KITT and Michael are back together! But their relationship seems to be in trouble... Samsung released a new extended commercial online promoting their Smart Home products. In the ad, David Hasselhoff tries to explain all of the new features, only to be constantly interrupted by a very jealous KITT. We get a look "behind the scenes" of the commercial to hear the Hoff explain the appeal of Knight Rider and to make sense of his partner's behavior.

Thirty years ago tonight, Knight Rider aired for the very first time on NBC. Originally driven by NBC exec Brandon Tartikoff's desire to have a new type of action hero, it was ultimately Glen A. Laron's vision and David Hasselhoff's Michael that brought it to life. Expectations were mixed from the start, and none could predict the success at the time and culturally since that it hard. Across 82 episodes and 90 hours of television (not to mention the reunion movies, attempts at revival, and countless parodies), Knight Rider is solidified in history.

We want to take a moment to thank everyone who helped bring this show to air, and inspiring a generation. The belief that one person can be empowered to make a difference against great odds as been instilled in the core of many - and for that we thank you!

So tonight, grab your DVD, VHS, Hulu or whatever method you have at your disposal - and rewatch the Pilot episode and try to remember what it felt like way back when. We have plenty of discussions in our forum highlighting some of the articles from back in the day, and be sure to check out our episode page for more on the episode itself - including the teaser for the original premier!

The series premier of The Hasselhoffs premieres Sunday, December 5 at 10/9c on A&E. If you are not familiar, it's a ten episode half-hour long series that brings you into the household of David Hasselhoff. They filmed a lot of Knight Rider related things, from his appearance at the Knight Rider Festival, to driving up in KITT for Pink's Hot Dogs and of course the impromptu Parade at Comic Con. Watch as he raises his two daughters as a single parent with their up-and-coming group “Bella Vida.”

About “The Hasselhoffs”:
The series tags along with father and daughter Taylor-Ann performing side-by-side on set of “The Young and The Restless,” goes behind-the-scenes with Hayley at “Huge,” steps in-studio with “Bella Vida” to record, write songs and meet with producers, watches David’s preparations for a comedy roast and travels to Austria where David orchestrates a production of an epic scale, one where the entire family’s reputation hangs in the balance. With three entertainers with big personalities and an unparalleled sibling rivalry between the girls in the house, there is never a dull moment with “The Hasselhoffs,” but throughout it all, David proves he is a dedicated father and no matter what challenges he faces, he has the best interests of his daughters in mind.

News broke recently that David will be featured by Comedy Central in their celebrity roast series. Filming will be on August 1st, with airing on August 15th at 10pm.

Press Release below thanks to davidNet:

NEW YORK, June 9, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — International superstar and television icon David Hasselhoff has been announced as COMEDY CENTRAL’s next Roastee. The show is scheduled to tape this summer in Los Angeles. “The COMEDY CENTRAL Roast Of David Hasselhoff” will air on Sunday, August 15 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

“I’m honored that COMEDY CENTRAL is going to get ‘Hoff’ on me,” said David Hasselhoff. “I have always been a major fan of Roasts, dating back to the days of the ‘Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts.’ Laughter is the best medicine. Bring it on! I’m ready to take the heat.”

“David Hasselhoff is a worldwide celebrity who has and continues to entertain audiences around the globe,” said Elizabeth Porter, senior vice president, specials and talent for COMEDY CENTRAL. “By the end of this year’s Roast, this pop culture icon will surely see that no slow motion run or life preserver can save him.”

The “COMEDY CENTRAL Roast Of David Hasselhoff” will be executive produced by Joel Gallen from Tenth Planet Productions, who was also executive producer and director of the “COMEDY CENTRAL Roast Of Joan Rivers,” “COMEDY CENTRAL Roast Of Larry The Cable Guy,” “COMEDY CENTRAL Roast Of Bob Saget,” “COMEDY CENTRAL Roast Of Flavor-Flav,” the Emmy-nominated “COMEDY CENTRAL Roast Of William Shatner” and the “COMEDY CENTRAL Roast Of Pamela Anderson.” Larry Thompson will also serve as executive producer and previously held this title on the “COMEDY CENTRAL Roasts” of Joan Rivers and William Shatner. Elizabeth Porter is the executive in charge for the network.

The image above is from a filming for the promotional commercials around the roast. Star Cars Central founder Nate Truman had his car featured for the shoot. He writes on his Facebook:

The Hoff smears cheeseburgers into my headlights, and dances on the roof, hit KITT with a hose over and over soap scum all over the car.... and I am OK with that! Comedy Central Roast promos shot yesterday, and the Hoff asked for my car specifically! He signed KITT too.

If you are in LA in August, you can apply to get tickets. Details on how can be found here!

UK based automotive chain Kwik Fit, has a great new ad featuring KITT, voiced by William Daniels. This very cute ad is created by the ad agency DDB London.

KITT, David Hasselhoff's intelligent Pontiac Trans Am from the 1980s US drama Knight Rider, is to make a TV comeback in an ad campaign for the car repair firm Kwik-Fit.

The TV campaign, which Kwik-Fit said is about showing that it does "so much more than just tyres and exhausts", features the once unstoppable KITT getting a buffing while minus a wheel in a repair shop.

KITT's voice provided, as in the original series, by William Daniels. The campaign, by ad agency DDB London, breaks on Monday night.

As we have mentioned in the past, the new sound stage for the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien was actually used for the original Knight Rider. Before the move, Conan mentioned this, and we knew it was only a matter of time before he did so again post move.

Last night Conan introduced "Gabriel" using the "Knight Technology" left in the studio, and as you can see - they're already butting heads.

This week, the UK channel Living aired The Hoff: When Scott Came To Stay, a :45 min look into Scott Mills, a UK radio personality, and his week living with David Hasselhoff. This is a really unique and humanizing look into the behind the scenes world of David.

We caught up with David and Scott filming back in January as they met the members of the Knights of the West Coast organization and their fleet of KITT Replicas.

Someone has posted on YouTube the complete episode for people not in the UK to see. We've included embeds to those videos after the jump.

The entertainment magazines are covering the upcoming Fall TV season in full force, which means Knight Rider is a big part of the media wave.

NBC aired the longest commercial trailer yet. We show how KITT finds Sarah, KITT meeting Mike, and plot details that might be a bit spoilerish. Also another clip that had been airing recently is a Ford commercial talking about how in conjunction with Knight Rider they will be giving away four cars, one being a Mustang. That video is after the jump.

We are back with part 2 of our exclusive interview with Deanna Russo - who plays Sarah Graiman, daughter of Charles Graiman - creator of the Knight Industries Three Thousand and childhood friend of Mike Traceur.

Continue to read our exclusive interview with her. Also be sure to check out our previous interviews with David Bartis, Sydney Tamiia Poitier and Kevin Dunigan.
