The Knight Rider community is filled with people making a difference, and this is no different. David Doggett is a great fan who works very hard to help keep the spirit of Knight Rider alive, as well as doing some great charity along the way. This time he's produced a Knight Rider calendar!

This two year (2010-2011) calendar contains some very rare photography. Craig Leary who did the driving for KITT in the intros has allowed some of his personal photography from that shooting to be used. And David himself included some of his photos from time spent on "Kickin It Old Skool" the 2007 movie where David Hasselhoff and KITT appeared.

Partial proceeds from the sale of this calendar will goto the Children's Miracle Network. for more information on how to get this calendar!

The Deanna Russo directed webseries "Real Life With Married People" has begun its second season. This is a "very short web videos about a couch, and the two people who sit on it a lot." It was created by Celia Finkelstein and Destin Berthelot who also star int he show. Deanna does all her work behind the camera, which may be unfortunate for some fans. However the comedy performed by Celia and Destin is quite humorous and hits true for anyone ever in a relationship.

An wonderful piece of history was shared by Ave4uevoli who posted in our forum. He's recently aquired FLAG Mobile Unit and KITT that was used in the original series. He says:

Well here it is - I thought you all would like to see and to know where it is now. It's still alive and well. Below there are also pictures of a screenused miniature - the one that has a working scanner. I believe it's the only one made with a working scanner too. Jack never finished it. If you look at the picture where Jack is holding one miniature - the one I have is the one on his table. It still doesn't have side mirrors.

The trailer is a whopping 7-8 feet long. Altogether with the truck it comes out to nearly 10 feet long. It's constructed of metal, wood and resin parts. It's been sitting in a crate for the last few years untouched. The crate that it came in was the same crate that came from Jack's garage/workshop. Anyways - enjoy.

The trailer itself has some of the interior done - not much though. It was built so that the 4-5 miniatures made could fit inside. It's quite cool. The trailer has working lights on the truck part and the KITT miniature has a working scanner and is supposed to have working rear lights (i haven't tested the rear lights)

Be sure to check out the thread for more information that's been learned about the unique history of this piece. Click thru the bellow gallery to see more pictures!

file.jpgThe Golden State Pops Orchestra paid tribute to Stu Phillips last night in the beautiful, 1930s art-deco Warner Music Hall. I didn't think I was going to be able to make it to the concert, but I was able to at the last minute and was glad I did.

I admit I was a little disappointed when I first saw the program; Stu had told me that they would be performing Knight Rider during the concert, but it wasn't listed on the schedule. These things happen, but I was still looking forward to the other performances. First, conductor Steven Alan Fox led the orchestra performing the end credits to Star Trek First Contact (not one of Stu's pieces). They also performed a classical piece Stu composed, to show that Stu wasn't just a "Hollywood" composer.

Stu came on stage and led the orchestra performing movements from Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers, and an independent film he scored, "The Name of the Game is…Kill." Before each piece, Stu would give a brief overview of the storylines and characters. He was very funny about it all, and had a tongue-in-cheek attitude about how shows were a bit different in the 70s. The BSG theme in particular was absolutely amazing performed live.

An amazing weekend was had in Las Vegas as Paul Casey put on the first Las Vegas Car Stars. With over 15 TV & Move cars, many Hot Rods and celebrities (from Knight Rider: Michael Scheffe and Catherine Hickland!) a great time was had while also helping the Children's Miracle Network.

Paul continually proves to be a driving forcing in being one man making a difference through these events to help these children's lives. Knight Rider Festival II takes place in Las Vegas March 19-20, 2010. We'll have more about that in the upcoming weeks and months.

You can find more photos on the Las Vegas Car Stars website or in the Knight Registires forum. As a special treat you can find video from the event on Catherine Hickland's twitter, and author Nick Nugent's YouTube.

As I’m sure many of you will know, the Knight Rider 2008 DVD set was released on the 14th September here in the UK. Unfortunately, our plans to create a pre-release review were scuppered by the recent industrial action being carried out by the postal service. However, thanks to the efforts of the people at Universal Playback, we were finally able to get a copy early this month.

I know what you’re thinking, but in spite of the time lapse, the saying does go, better late than never. Sadly, circumstances have since conspired to prevent a complete review from taking place. As a result, I have decided to take this brief moment under the dawn’s early light to catalogue the content of each disc, so as to ensure that those of you that are still on the fence, will know the basics, such as how many discs are present, and what bonus features are available.

So, if you’d like to read further, feel free to follow the jump.

The core of Knight Rider has always been about one person making a difference. It is always amazing to us that the people who we watched in front of the camera, have cared that belief off screen. Patricia McPherson has dedicated her time for many years to save Playa Vista wetlands, David Hasselhoff with Make-A-Wish and now Deanna Russo, who tomorrow will speak in Washington DC for an extremely serious cause.

At the "DC SMS "Trainer the Trainer" Seminar", Deanna will be presenting on Stopping Modern Slavery. According to the International Labor Organization, 12.3 million adults and children are forced into various forms of labor, an equivalent of modern slavery, or human trafficking. The focus of this presentation is to teach and give others the power to give presentations and speak out against human trafficking and modern slavery.

More information on the event can be found at their meetup page.

The beautiful and talented Catherine Hickland, who of course played Stevie on Knight Rider, is attending the Las Vegas Car Stars weekend on Fremont street tonight and tomorrow.

She's been cool enough to share a video where she shows of her beautiful KITT replica. She plans to send more on her twitter @cathickland over the weekend, so be sure to check her out and tweet her thanks!

The Las Vegas Car Stars event is being put on to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network! It features some amazing cars from TV and Film, so if you are in the Las Vegas area, check out this FREE event and support an amazing cause.

For more information on Las Vegas Car Stars visit their website at lasvegascarstars.com or our recap post earlier in the week.

Thanks to Navtones we've got a really unique experience to share. As you know, we've been working with them for some time promoting the first KITT product for Mio, and now the release of the update of KITT Car Voice for TomTom and Garmin. One of the things we at KRO thought would be really fun to do was to inteview to Mr. Daniels. Navtones thought this idea was great and together we have put together a way for the community to help do the interview!

Visit:
http://knightrideronline.com/navtones/

The best 20 questions chosen by KRO and Navtones will be asked to Mr. Daniels as he records additional content for the device, which includes those missing names they've been collecting from the first release. We'll then post those on audio clips on a weekly basis, gearing up for the product itself to be available for download. The plan is to be able to hear Daniels answer the questions over audio, without text to read!

So please, spread the word! And get your questions in early! It is very rare for him to give interviews, and to have this type of personal access - well I can't express how amazing this opportunity is!

Only questions entered at knightrideronline.com/navtones will be eligible for consideration!

Last year our own Michael Pajaro ran into Paul Campbell at the Nautica Malibu Triathlon. We just got word from Paul and his lovely wife Laurie that they are racing again. Similar to last year they will be racing as part of a relay team, with Paul doing the running leg. This is being done to raising money for the Children's Lifesaving Foundation, and they are accepting donations for the charity.

As Lorie explains it:

"The charity is The Children's Lifesaving Foundation --it is a non-profit based in Venice and is dedicated to totally transforming the lives of LA’s at-risk homeless youth and families. During the school year we tutor the children after school --and in the summer we provide a surf camp at Zuma beach twice a week."

Paul and Laurie are actively involved with this Foundation, dedicating their time and not just money to the charity. It would be great if we could help them with their fundraising efforts by sponsoring them for the race. You'll even get to see a cute wedding photo of them on the donation page.

Good luck on the race!

With the news recently that the former exclusive KITT voice was coming to other GPS devices, we started to wonder what was next for our friends at Navtones. When we first heard what that was, our first thought was "of course!"

David Hasselhoff, Mr. Michael Knight himself, was in the Navtones studio last week recording his dialog for his GPS voice and hopes to be as "irreverent and funny" as he is. It should be available as a downloadable add on to your TomTom or Garmin device. He posted this clip to his HoffSpace blog.

Also be sure to check out this fantastic clip we were very shocked to find in our mailbox, as special shot out from David to all the Knight Rider fans on knightrideronline.com! Thanks David, and thanks Navtones!

Remember, there is still time to get your voice added to the KITT release for TomTom and Garmin, visit navtones.com to add your name considered to be personalized.

Another clip with David recording is after the jump.

Tomorrow Premiere Props and Picture Car Warehouse will be holding the Massive Car and Movie Prop Auction, featuring items from a large selection of Movie and TV shows, including the Knight Rider. Featured in the auction is a 1991 Dodge Stealth, which was converted into the Knight 4000 for the Knight Rider 2000 movie. It doesn't specifically say if this was a screen used vehicle, and if I was a buyer, I'd like some assurance of that. The auction listing does mention that the dash was used in the Buck or cut away car, which is used to shoot closeups on a sound stage.

In addition to that is two 1969 Mustangs, which were used in the episode Fly By Knight.

The auction is this Saturday, August 15th at Los Angeles Center Studios, at 450 S. Bixel Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017. There will be a preview of the items, though we are told the Knight 4000 will NOT be on location, beginning at 9am till 11am. The auction itself begins at 11am. If you can't make it down you can bid via icollector.com or by phone. More information is available at the Premier Props website.

For more information on Ted Moser of Picture Car Warehouse, check out our interview with him, where we talk about his involvement with the Knight Rider 2008 Telefilm.

We hope to have more directly from the auction itself by the end of the weekend, so check back!
