After learning that David was being replaced by Howie Mandel on "America's Got Talent" it was unsure what the veteran Knight Rider actor might do next.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the cable network A&E has ordered a 10 episode serise that will focus on the actors entertainment endeavors and helping his daughters break into the recording industry. The series will be produced by FremantleMedia and will debut this year.

“It’s the dream of every parent to be able to help their children succeed,” Hasselhoff said. “I told the girls that I would help them open the door when they are ready, but they would have to walk through it on their own. This is their time and I am excited to be a part of it."

Of course, as THR points out, some fans might tune in expecting to see the Hoff on one of his alcohol adventures, but with any luck he will disappoint.

scheffe.jpgAttention East Coasters, here is your chance to meet Michael Scheffe, legendary designer of KITT (amongst others!) Michael Scheffe continues to be a huge supporter of the Knight Rider fandom, attending events here in Los Angeles and the Vegas Knight Rider Festival.

From their website:

Michael Scheffe, designer of the "Knight Rider" talking car KITT as well as the flying taxi seen in "Back to the Future II," is schedule to appear at the 2010 George Lindsey film festival at the University of North Alabama.

Scheffe will participate in a special effects workshop for festival goers March 5.

The workshop will include a screening of the short documentary "A DS in the Future," about the creation of the "Back to the Future II" flying taxi. Bernd Kruyt, director and producer of the documentary, will also participate in the workshop.

Lea Thompson, Bob Gale and James Tolkan from Back to the Future will also be in attendance.

In an interview with The Digital Lifestyle, the lovely and brilliantly sharp actress/director/model "sits" down via webcam to talk about Knight Rider and other fun topics. In discussing Knight Rider's failure, she compares it's "cheesyness" to not have been the quality needed for success. Additional issues of stress with the executive management at NBC as being too hands on for the project and their obsession over the look of a coat. This confirms rumors we've heard towards the end of its run, as the executive offices of NBC became a revolving door.

Deanna's currently working on FX's Rescue Me for the season that is set to air this year. She also directs the web short series Real Life With Married People now in it's second season.

bruce_davison.jpgNews comes that Bruce Davison has recorded the voice for President Wilson in Warner Brothers Animation film "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths" releasing on various home video formats on February 23rd.

iesb.net caught up with Bruce during the recording sessions and asked him a few questions, one being our fav:

QUESTION: You've done so many different things. What do people most often recognize you for?

BRUCE DAVISON:
Well, if they're my age, probably Willard, because that was an impressionable movie when you're young. The younger people know me from X-Men. And then if you're 12, it's Knight Rider. It's as though every few years something comes along and then I'm sort of remembered for that. But people don't really know that I can do anything else until the next time.

It's nice to hear confirmation that a new generation did watch the show, and have the cast think positively on that. You can read the rest of the interview on their website.

After four years with the show, David has announced via People Magazine that he will be continuing on:

In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Hasselhoff, 57, says, “I am proud that I was part of making America’s Got Talent the No. 1 rated show for the past four summers. It’s been a rewarding experience and now I’m thrilled to be able to follow my dream to do my own TV show, which will be announced very shortly.”

Hasselhoff adds, “I want to thank my friend, (executive producer) Simon Cowell, and everyone at NBC and Fremantle for the opportunity for four great years.”

Rumors are speculating that David's new show will be a reality based one, that follows his daily life. Unfortunately this means no more on AGT reunions with KITT:

Over the holiday weekend, news broke that David had suffered a seizure and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. After spending a few days under observation, he has now been released and is doing well. Best wishes of health to David and his family as they work through treatment and recovery.

UPDATE: David spoke with TMZ.com and denies that he had a seizure. States that it is a private matter.

The Knight Rider community is filled with people making a difference, and this is no different. David Doggett is a great fan who works very hard to help keep the spirit of Knight Rider alive, as well as doing some great charity along the way. This time he's produced a Knight Rider calendar!

This two year (2010-2011) calendar contains some very rare photography. Craig Leary who did the driving for KITT in the intros has allowed some of his personal photography from that shooting to be used. And David himself included some of his photos from time spent on "Kickin It Old Skool" the 2007 movie where David Hasselhoff and KITT appeared.

Partial proceeds from the sale of this calendar will goto the Children's Miracle Network. Click here to email David for more information on how to get this calendar!

The Deanna Russo directed webseries "Real Life With Married People" has begun its second season. This is a "very short web videos about a couch, and the two people who sit on it a lot." It was created by Celia Finkelstein and Destin Berthelot who also star int he show. Deanna does all her work behind the camera, which may be unfortunate for some fans. However the comedy performed by Celia and Destin is quite humorous and hits true for anyone ever in a relationship.

An wonderful piece of history was shared by Ave4uevoli who posted in our forum. He's recently aquired FLAG Mobile Unit and KITT that was used in the original series. He says:

Well here it is - I thought you all would like to see and to know where it is now. It's still alive and well. Below there are also pictures of a screenused miniature - the one that has a working scanner. I believe it's the only one made with a working scanner too. Jack never finished it. If you look at the picture where Jack is holding one miniature - the one I have is the one on his table. It still doesn't have side mirrors.

The trailer is a whopping 7-8 feet long. Altogether with the truck it comes out to nearly 10 feet long. It's constructed of metal, wood and resin parts. It's been sitting in a crate for the last few years untouched. The crate that it came in was the same crate that came from Jack's garage/workshop. Anyways - enjoy.

The trailer itself has some of the interior done - not much though. It was built so that the 4-5 miniatures made could fit inside. It's quite cool. The trailer has working lights on the truck part and the KITT miniature has a working scanner and is supposed to have working rear lights (i haven't tested the rear lights)

Be sure to check out the thread for more information that's been learned about the unique history of this piece. Click thru the bellow gallery to see more pictures!

file.jpgThe Golden State Pops Orchestra paid tribute to Stu Phillips last night in the beautiful, 1930s art-deco Warner Music Hall. I didn't think I was going to be able to make it to the concert, but I was able to at the last minute and was glad I did.

I admit I was a little disappointed when I first saw the program; Stu had told me that they would be performing Knight Rider during the concert, but it wasn't listed on the schedule. These things happen, but I was still looking forward to the other performances. First, conductor Steven Alan Fox led the orchestra performing the end credits to Star Trek First Contact (not one of Stu's pieces). They also performed a classical piece Stu composed, to show that Stu wasn't just a "Hollywood" composer.

Stu came on stage and led the orchestra performing movements from Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers, and an independent film he scored, "The Name of the Game is…Kill." Before each piece, Stu would give a brief overview of the storylines and characters. He was very funny about it all, and had a tongue-in-cheek attitude about how shows were a bit different in the 70s. The BSG theme in particular was absolutely amazing performed live.

An amazing weekend was had in Las Vegas as Paul Casey put on the first Las Vegas Car Stars. With over 15 TV & Move cars, many Hot Rods and celebrities (from Knight Rider: Michael Scheffe and Catherine Hickland!) a great time was had while also helping the Children's Miracle Network.

Paul continually proves to be a driving forcing in being one man making a difference through these events to help these children's lives. Knight Rider Festival II takes place in Las Vegas March 19-20, 2010. We'll have more about that in the upcoming weeks and months.

You can find more photos on the Las Vegas Car Stars website or in the Knight Registires forum. As a special treat you can find video from the event on Catherine Hickland's twitter, and author Nick Nugent's YouTube.

As I’m sure many of you will know, the Knight Rider 2008 DVD set was released on the 14th September here in the UK. Unfortunately, our plans to create a pre-release review were scuppered by the recent industrial action being carried out by the postal service. However, thanks to the efforts of the people at Universal Playback, we were finally able to get a copy early this month.

I know what you’re thinking, but in spite of the time lapse, the saying does go, better late than never. Sadly, circumstances have since conspired to prevent a complete review from taking place. As a result, I have decided to take this brief moment under the dawn’s early light to catalogue the content of each disc, so as to ensure that those of you that are still on the fence, will know the basics, such as how many discs are present, and what bonus features are available.

So, if you’d like to read further, feel free to follow the jump.
