This weekend sees the return of Las Vegas Car Stars, Paul Casey's free event to benefit the Children's Miracle Network. Dozens of cars and celebrities from Movies and TV will be on hand. Scheduled to appear from Knight Rider is Catherine Hickland, Jack Gill, George Barris, Buzz Bundy, Bob Bralver, Tom Greene, James Winburn and KITTs from both the original series and the 2008 reboot (Those are just some of the many)

If you are in Las Vegas this weekend, stop by on Saturday from 10am to 4pm for a fun day filled with amazing vehicles and celebrities! We will be on hand and will report back throughout the day via our twitter account.

Cool news.... Teresa Huang, staff writer for Knight Rider '08, got in touch with us to let us know about a new kickstarter short film project she's working on with some other Knight Rider alumni! The movie is called "Early Retirement", and is "a short film about two contract killers engaged in a deadly game of cat and mouse that only serves to cover a flirtatious love affair."

Justin Bruening is the lead actor - Teresa tells us "This project will mark his return to kicking ass and taking names! " Justin is also a producer.

Teresa will be producing and acting in the film opposite Justin. Our very own on-location reporter Sue interviewed Teresa during Knight Rider's production several years ago.

Rajeev Dassani is the director. Rajeev started Master Key Productions, the company that did all of the visual effects for Knight Rider. We visited them over the summer before the series started, and they gave us some great previews on video of the work they were doing.

In the last 4 days they raised about $3000 to reach their goal, but you have less than 36 hours to join in too. We pledged some money, and hope you'll think about doing the same. Come on, don't you want to see Justin getting poisoned on screen?

In addition to many KITT replicas on display and guest appear appearances from the cast and crew of Knight Rider, Las Vegas Star Cars will be hosting many famous Hollywood vehicles along with their human co-stars.

The Hot Wheels Elite team is getting close to releasing both their 1:18 and 1:43 die-cast models. As we've shown you previously this highly detailed model is going to be many fans lusted over product. You'll have to wait till February to get your hands on one, but in the mean time enjoy these images of the final models!

Last week, MTV began to air the twelfth season of their series Made, which gives participants the opportunity to have their dreams become real. In the premier episode we meet Chris, who is introduced to become David's new assistant. This episode features heavily David's 60th Birthday party where he was presented with his own KITT (with custom lambo doors) which was restored by Jen Catano.

The lovely Rebecca Holden, who played April Curtis in the second season of Knight Rider, is out with a new single! This time it's a duet with Grammy award winner Jon Secada.

Knight Rider Historian Joe Huth is out with another great book that takes a look at the original series of Knight Rider from a fresh perspective. In Knight Rider: 30 Years of a Lone Crusader and His Talking Car, Joe Huth and co-author David Bronstein performed over 60 brand new interviews with the cast and crew, giving an insiders look at the behind the scenes of the popular 80s show over the course of 520 pages!

We took the opportunity to ask Joe some questions about the book and his Knight Rider passion, continue to read our Q&A:

Diamond Select Toys is getting very close to releasing their 1:15 scale KITT model, complete with light effects and working sounds! Similar to the very popular Kenner model of yore, this KITT plays through several pre-recorded phrases (activated by pressing the gas tank door, and not the license plate), but DST really steps it up by adding a working scanner and lights and sounds to the presentation. This looks to be a great product for the collector and kid alike. They'll be releasing a KITT only model this year, with a KITT and Michael variant in January.

Cable channel G4 will begin airing Knight Rider on October 1st at 11am EST, starting at the beginning with two hour pilot. Thirty years ago tonight, Knight Rider aired for the very first time on NBC. Originally driven by NBC exec Brandon Tartikoff's desire to have a new type of action hero, it was ultimately Glen A. Laron's vision and David Hasselhoff's Michael that brought it to life. Expectations were mixed from the start, and none could predict the success at the time and culturally since that it hard. Across 82 episodes and 90 hours of television (not to mention the reunion movies, attempts at revival, and countless parodies), Knight Rider is solidified in history.

We want to take a moment to thank everyone who helped bring this show to air, and inspiring a generation. The belief that one person can be empowered to make a difference against great odds as been instilled in the core of many - and for that we thank you!

So tonight, grab your DVD, VHS, Hulu or whatever method you have at your disposal - and rewatch the Pilot episode and try to remember what it felt like way back when. We have plenty of discussions in our forum highlighting some of the articles from back in the day, and be sure to check out our episode page for more on the episode itself - including the teaser for the original premier!

• Glen Laron's lawsuit against Universal Judge survives the first hurdle as the rejected Universal's attempt to toss his key claims at the initial stage. The suit first filled in 2011 argues that Universal has unfairly compensated Larson productions on residuals from his successful shows including Knight Rider.

The premier event for Knight Rider fans in Europe makes a return for it's fifth anniversary on September 1st. KnightCon UK repeatedly has been a respected and world class event. Rob and Steve work really hard to make sure all fans have a great time, and in previous years have had the great success of reuniting many of the original cast, including Rebecca Holden, Peter Parros and David Hasselhoff. Other past guests have included Michael Scheffe and Catherine Hickland - as well as an amazing reproduction of the interior Semi set from the series and countless replicas.

Details for this years event are still being firmed up, but have so far confirmed the return of Peter Parros, Michael Scheffe and Rebecca Holden. The event is FREE to the public! There are however a limited number of VIP passes available for £30 which gets you into an exclusive party the night before.
