I was considering the new 2017 Camaro as a kitt body but in silver with an orange scanner. Just to change it up from the usual black and red combo we're used to.
I wouldn't show the slightest bit of surprise if Wayne Enterprises would place his emblem upon a rebooted KITT. After all, some versions of the Batmobile have self driving abilities, a bullet proof shell is right up his alley and having an AI assistant...might seem too much like Iron Man, actually.
I kind of dig it, although I would stick with the original wheels and just change the outer rim to a stainless colour to simulate the style of the Trans Am wheels.

Thank you. What's all this, it looks like Darth Vader's bathroom?
I love it man, that's exactly where I'd start if I was working on a modern KITT using the Camaro. Hell, if I ever get my arse in gear and get back to that story of mine, I could definitely see myself writing KITT based upon that.

How about sticking the scanner between the headlights and perhaps small centercaps on the wheels to make them a bit smoother / aerodynamic, mimicking KITT's original rims?
@Matthew, I believe you made a suggestion in the middle of the evening about tinted headlamps to match the look of the 80's kitt and changed your post. I made a mental note of that for this morning before you changed your post.
@Kittfan,
Do you have an example of what you mean for the hubcap design? I think I might go with my older idea of a tinted glass based outer hubcap being held by a stainless steel rim.

I did yeah, although I didn't mean to edit it out. I should probably make a mental note not to edit my posts first thing in the morning, especially when I haven't slept for over 24 hours.
On the headlights, those definitely work bud, especially from a production standpoint. The '08 series demonstrated that a vehicle sponsorship deal can be quite strict these days, since Ford didn't let the producers do a whole heck of a lot to the basic GT500KR.

Those wheels don't look like they belong on kitt at all. The turbofinned bowling ball hubcaps or the custom ones i designed seem to say roving computer.Those seem too rugged.
