Knight Rider (2008-2009)
In 2008, NBC brought Knight Rider back to primetime television with a reimagined series. The show introduced Mike Traceur (Justin Bruening), the son of the original Michael Knight, who is recruited by a new iteration of the Foundation for Law and Government. Paired with KITT — the Knight Industries Three Thousand, a Ford Shelby GT500KR equipped with advanced nanotechnology that allows it to transform into other vehicles — Mike takes on missions to protect national security.
The series began with a two-hour TV movie pilot on February 17, 2008, which drew over 12 million viewers. It was picked up for a full season of 17 episodes that aired from September 2008 through March 2009. The show featured Val Kilmer as the voice of KITT and co-starred Deanna Russo as Sarah Graiman, the daughter of KITT's creator.
