Found the 1/64 KITT today from local supermarket:
Here he is with my old 80's Majorette Trans-Am which was my "KITT" toycar at the time when Knight Rider was 1st time on tv
I finally got my hands on the Hot Wheels 1/64 KITT... For the low price, it is a very decent KITT diecast. Too bad they got the rims wrong.. And I really wish the red plastic piece for the scanner was more visible. Otherwise, I'm really happy with the car.. Looks really good.. Really like the clear top and the license plate which the Japanese Charawheels version did not have.. Looking forward to seeing their SDCC 2012 exclusive version..
I will definitely be on the lookout for this here in Seattle. I would be willing to bet that my favorite local comic book shop will be stocking this as they've already got the Back to the Future, A-Team and Ghostbusters 1/64 cars on prominent display right up next to the front counter. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed when I pay them a visit tomorrow or Friday!

Today the Hotwheels shelf had gotten a refill in the local supermarket and there was again one KITT which I bought of course. This was just the second 1/64 Hotwheels KITT I have seen here so far.
Wanted two of these for KITT & KARR (TDR).
Next I'm looking forward to get the 1/43 and 1/18 Hotwheels KITT models.
Slightly off topic but found yesterday nice car to display with the 1/64 KITT, namely the Hotwheels '85 Camaro Iroc-Z in metallic black which I guess have the same wheels but fully chromed. Rear wheel looks bigger though:

Is it ERTL? Hot Wheels ? etc?

Looks perfectly scaled with the 1:64 Hot Wheels KITT
