i seen kitt at universal studios and he was really talking and answering my questions. is he a real live machine?

nope, unfortunatly not. what you saw at universal studios was a car that had a audio interface so that someone outside of the car could interact with those that were inside it. it was probably just a minimum wage paid employee.

I wouldnt think so. They probley pay someone to sit with a microphone and listen to people question and then he answers. But you never know? When did you see him?

He is gone now. But I can verify that he was there in 1994. I personally last saw him in 96 I believe.

Because as usual, people disrespect others property and vandalized the hell out of it. so it was pulled and left to rot on the back lot somewhere..

Also, I would hate to say that he had a pretty prime peace of real-estate, and the actual people who knew what he was most likey dwindling without major events in the series in the recent years.

I'm pretty sure that when he was taken down, the space was used for a new exhibit that was based on a movie of the time, does anyone remember what that was?

well I found out was wrong. KITT was moved, and a cafe was put in its place. It wasn't to make room for the latest movie. (And KITT was there after Jurassic Park stuck, as the last time I was at Universal, the Jurassic Park ride, and KITT were both there)

A couple of years ago, KITT was moved right under where the 'U' in the words 'Upper Lot' on the map linked below. After they took him down and removed the water platform, they replaced it with a dining area. At one time they even had Beast from TKR there.

Here is a map of Universal Studios. The area circled in red is where KITT was, right next to the giant shark from jaws. Where the tables and umbrella are now.

I'll try to get a map up here in the next few days to week with KITT on the actual map for comparison. If someone else has access, please feel free to post it as well

So where were the original pics of KITT on the water feature taken? Where was KITT first displayed? Wasn't there a angled side-on display at one time? Why is the sky blue? Oh, sorry about the last one.

no, it's a replica.

and i am wrong. i remember now seeing the jurassic park ride there when i saw kitt, he was opposite a restaurant me and my family dined in before hopping over and seeing him.

The pics of KITT on the water were taken in the middle of the red circle on the map, next to the Jaws shark. The whole structure that used to be there is now no longer.

They should have sent KITT down here to Universal Florida. They'd probably would have him sitting in the Boneyard, in between Burt Reynold's car from "Cop and a 1/2" and the Lazarus machine from "Casper".

One cool thing about KITT at Universal was that sometimes when people came to the front of the car to take pictures, KITT would raise his headlights and say "cheese". It surprised a lot of people, who didn't think KITT could really "see" them. If no one was in line to sit inside, he would call out to people walking by. They had some nice touches.

Dumbledore- To answer your question: No. I have been down to Universal three times in my lifetime. I know the place very well, and I can tell you that the map is not to USF, but Universal Studios Hollywood.
