KITT 1:18 scale diecast model

Post by Knight 'n' Day » Sat May 24, 2003 1:20 am

I recently e-mailed Ertl (the manufacturer of the American Muscle series of diecast models) and made a couple of suggestions for new additions to their series, one of them being KITT. While they do not have any current plans to make KITT, I was told that my suggestion would be forwarded to the Product Development team. I know it's not necessarily groundbreaking news, but at least it means they've been alerted to the want (of at least one person) of a KITT model. A little bit of sunshine on the horizon, anyhow.

Although sadly that seems like more of a form statement then proof that any one will actually hear your plea. But if more people write to them and ask them nicely to re-release the model, then that perhaps will be a volume they can not ignore.

Was there ever a Hot Wheels model of KITT and/or KARR ever released?

Matchbox released a 1/64 car a few years ago as part of their Star Car series. You can still find them for sale on eBay.

Yea, that the model that the original thread was talking about Dave. Darendor just asked if Hot Wheels ever released any cars, to which I brought up the 1/64 that their competitor (sister company?) produced a few years back.

I don't believe there has been a 1/18th die cast car, but here is to hoping that they do!
