well like i said other than the overal design of the faceplate and buttons, the dimensions of the radios are the same. you can put in the stereo from any GM car into dash of your car (or ANY 82-92 camaro/firebirds). I know this for a fact as my dad who had the same car you are getting his radio like i said in an earlier post worked half the time. we found a place that sold the parts that were pulled from inside the cars like gauge clusters and stereos, and climate controls and kept them indoors. i personally installed the stereo from a 96 firebird that had a CD player and it plugged into the 83 T/A's wire harness and slid right into the dash and even the 2 bolt holes on both sides of the unit lined up. we chose the firebird radio because it had the same red LED numbers that were in the 83 T/A's unit.

T/A and GTO are basically dead in the water due to the latest MPG requirements. GM would rather keep the Corvette around and will keep Camaro as it has always done well in sales (but they are seriously considering a hybrid option!). I can see the Firebird coming back in a few years if Camaro sales do well, but as a special waiting list deal for Pontiac and be basically a carbon copy Camaro with maybe a hood decal (and probably a V6 only as GM seems to think that Chevy has to be the dedicated sports car devision of the corporation).
KITT project is on again!

Currently working on: brand new stock tan interior, almost done!

picture of the upcoming (in austraila) Holden Commedore 60 coupe which is based on the same sedan that is coming to USA as the new G8. I saw on one forum a guy photoshopped the G8 front fascia and ram air hood on to that pic and it looked damn good. i can totaly see this coming as the new GTO.

more info and pictures of this HOT coupe

to me it does look good just like the new GTO. the original "John Z Delorean" GTO was a much better looking car in my opinion
