VK as K3TT

Post by pheonix_knight » Mon Feb 11, 2008 5:49 pm

why has VK tried to sound like William Daniels in the new 'shapeshifting' advert....???

especially as the new car is meant to have a new CPU (or is it...???)

Simple, that's not Val Kilmer, his voice isn't apparently going to be in any of the commercials. But, as I correctly guessed last night, his voice is featured on the Jay's Garage video. Though I'm sure it'll sound different in the final product.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great! :skar:

I was wondering why he was listed on the archive as being a cast member. It sounds like a joke to me. Is there a thread about this Garage Video with links?

Okay, it's not a joke.
And if that voice on that preview is his . . I'm shocked. It's not bad.
It sounds a lot like KARR though. Not that I mind, but it's odd.

I too thought it sounded like K.A.R.R. but I don't think it's anything I couldn't get used to.

.... It's not Kilmer's voice, that was completed before he came on board, there are however now a couple clips that do feature his voice. Check the second and fifth clip here:

Make sure to read the topic before hand and the potential spoiler warning.

Well now we'll know what we will miss.

I think the Kilmer voice could use a little more mechanical sound in the voice, but I don't think it will irritate me.
It's just really weird having a movie star that I've heard of doing the voice.

I agree, hopefully when they're done mixing it will sound a little mechanical, though hopefully not KARR like. Shame we don't still live in the age where someone would do a role uncredited and the studio wouldn't go out and say who did it. Leave a bit of mystery, though these days that's nearly impossible. Then again I'm sure it wasn't that big a secret that William Daniels was the voice of KITT to people who watched St. Elsewhere.
