I was wondering about what kind of format should the new series follow. In the 80's, the common type was the single story per episode. Nowdays season-long story arcs are more common (see Prisonbreak, Lost, et cetera). However, crime dramas still follow the old style (for example CSI and its spinoffs).
My vote goes for a mixture between the two. If you remember Star Trek Enterprise, the third season was like that: one common mainstream to follow with its mysteries unfold from episode to episode but every episode is a single mostly independent story. I think this would be well-suited for the new Knight Rider series.
What do you think?

Good question. I think it may start off with a story arc, but then turn into independent episodes later on, with the occasional arc just like the original series. Only difference this time, I think, is that I suspect there will be a few more/longer story arcs.
