Phone Rider is a neat little app, available from Apple's App Store for $0.99.

This app does one thing, and does it quite well - take the audio from your microphone and symulate it through a voice modulator interface that echos either of the Knight 2000 interfaces or KARR. It's really quite slick, with custom graphics that echo the Season 1 & 2 dash.

Check out our quick video review above. First 15 people to comment on this post with a valid email address will receive a free copy of this app, courtesy of p13development!

Sith has gotten a copy of the game from Davilex, and has taken the time to review the game. Unfortunately it seems to be a bit of a let down:

So, its finally here. The sequel to the 2002 Knight Rider The Game.

As most of you will recall, at the time a number of us were suitably unimpressed with the first game, and decided to lobby together on this very forum for a List Of Suggestions to aid Davilex in making the sequel a better game.

How much did they listen? Well... I'll tell you.

The game is out in Europe this week and a US date is still undecided.

The release of the PS2 game by Davilex has been pushed back a week to Nov 5th. The game will be available in Europe. The PS2 game requires a European PS2 and a PAL television set and will not work in North America. Details for a North American release are still not finalized.

Knight Rider 2 (PS2) £15.00

The first game:

Knight Rider (PS2) £16.99

Knight Rider (PC) £12.00

In the mean time, you can download a demo for the PC! here or here.

And don't forget Knight Rider - Series 1 is also available now for Region 2!

Michael Pajaro of knightridermovie.com was fortunate to have the oppurnity to meet with the developers of Davliex at this years e3 conference. He had this to say about the experience:

I visited Davilex at the E3 gaming convention today. The new game definitely looks like a great improvement over the original. They told me several times how much they listened to comments (complaints) about the first game from fans.

The new game gets away from the kind of boring "search and exlpore" model of the original. Instead, it is much more combat-oriented. This is a bit of a deviation from the actual series, but it should help game-play a lot. The reflection mapping on KITT looks really good, and the world textures are much better.

I have more screen shots and a preview movie to post later, but for now here are the list of features taken from their marketting presentation:

New interactive fighting system
KITT has access to 3 different type of weapons
Laser
Plasma gun
Missiles

Fight spectacular battles against enemies
Garthe and Goliath
KARR
Different types of robots
Choppers
Turrets
Laser protecting system

KITT has an electric shield to protect himself from enemy attacks
Use KITT’s Micro Jam to open gates and control elevators and Laser protecting systems
Interact with the environment and solve puzzles
11 new story based missions
New in-game animation system
Improved visual effects
Improved controls
Energy recharge system

You can find more info about the game, as well as screen shots and game trailer at knightrideronline.com, knightridermovie.com and at Davilex's official website knightridergame.com (although it still contains information about the previous game)

Blue'sNews.com posted a bit more information on the game:

"We are excited to develop and publish the sequel to Knight Rider. The first version was successful and it is a logical move to release its follow-up. We have carefully listened to our customers feedback on Knight Rider and we will be incorporating many of the given suggestions into Knight Rider 2" says CEO, Rogier Avis.

Knight Rider was one of the most popular TV series of the 80's attracting millions of viewers to the adventures and missions of David Hasselhof and his super can-do-all car K.I.T.T. Knight Rider is still shown on many TV Stations worldwide and enjoys a large following of fans who fondly remember Michael Knight, Bonnie, Devon and Garth, as well as the main star of the series, the shiny black sleek car named K.I.T.T.

Knight Rider 2 will address much of the customer feedback received on the first Knight Rider game as well as add many new features, which will improve the gameplay dramatically whilst maintaining the authentic atmosphere of the series. Knight Rider 2 will contain more action, in-game animations, special effects and dialogue than its predecessor. In addition to the gameplay elements of chase, race, explore and puzzle, Knight Rider 2 will also offer two complete new games modes: Combat and Mini Games.

As in the first Knight Rider, the player will play K.I.T.T. and must use all the unique features that this famous car was capable of in order to successfully complete missions. Whether its driving in ski-mode in narrow alleys, utilizing night vision to see where others can not, chasing the bad guys with incredible speed by activating the Turbo Boost or scanning buildings to analyse a situation, Knight Rider 2 will still offer all the thrilling features associated with the original K.I.T.T. car of the TV series.

In Knight Rider 2, KITT is now also capable of Combat mode which will raise the gameplay element significantly with the player using different car-based weapons to fight off robots, armoured vehicles and of course Garth, Michaels evil twin-brother and arch enemy. Mini Games such as Dirt Track Racing and The Shooting Gallery add to the excitement and fun. These Mini Games may be unlocked by successfully completing certain missions.

Furthermore, new tracks and environments, some with unconventional surroundings, will definitely add to a fantastic gaming experience. In this second game, players will be able to immerse themselves in the world of Knight Rider playing out numerous action packed missions providing hours upon hours of fun. A multi-player mode will allow breathtaking split-screen action between two players.

If you are a fequent visitor to our fourms, then this message will be nothing new to you:

Davilex today announced that it is working on a sequel to last years Knight Rider game which was released world wide on PC and in Europe on PS2. The game will include many of the modes from last year, but will include a few new items.

In addition to the chase, race, explore, and puzzle elements found in Knight Rider, the sequel will feature two additional gameplay elements in the form of combat and minigames. Using KITT's combat mode, players will do battle against robots, armored vehicles, and Michael Knight's evil twin brother Garth. Minigames in Knight Rider 2 will include a shooting gallery and dirt track racing amongst others.

One of the things the mention is that they have listened to the feedback everyone provided and will be using many of the suggestions in Knight Rider 2. Only time will tell if this is true, but thanks to everyone in the community for donating to those list of suggestions! Hopefully this will show when a community comes together, things can happen. I know it will be well worth it, and it's great when a Company tries to touch base to make the best product possible. They hope to have the game released by the end of the year.

Thanks to knightdogg for the find!

Thanks to Phil of www.philsfiles.de, who brought us KITT for GTA3, we now have KITT OR KARR for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City!

The mod replaces the Zebra Cab, which you get after you finish the Kaufman-Taxi mission. Once you complete it, you will find the car waiting for you at the aufman Taxi Building! The car doesn't do any of the features of KITT/KARR, however after you complete 100 Taxi-Missions you will unlock the ability to jump with the cab, and thus KITT or KARR.

You will require the following files, plus the Vice City game for the PC only to complete:

Spooky's IMG-Tool

Dmagic1's Wheel Mod

Steve-m's Coll Editor

and finally:

Phil's KITT/KARR Mod

Remember, this is a mod, and you perform it at your own risk!

Thanks to K.I.T.T for the heads up!

after months of much speculation, the cheat codes for Davilex's Knight Rider game were let known. Not much there, but good to finally know. There are two cheats, and these come directly from Davilex.

Our input has been requested to give comments on the new Knight Rider game. Sith has been charged with the job of collecting suggestions for the sequel. For those of you that have played the game, now is your chance to have your say. Being that it is alot earlier in development than before, it increases the chance of its inclusion.

Is davilex planning a sequel to this years PC and PS2 game? According to a message posted to the forums, they are doing just that. No further information is available yet, but when we hear more, we will be sure to let you know.
