Rumor Roundup
Over the last few weeks we've heard of a number of tidbits that we haven't mentioned here yet. These items are considered rumors as they have been submitted to us anonymously or mentioned on other sites and they have not been verified as legit by NBCUniversal.
While we believe them all to be true, take them with a grain of salt until an official word comes out.
- The new KITT will be a Shelby Mustang [source]

- Will Arrnet (Arrested Development) will be the voice of the new KITT [anonymous]
- Tentatively scheduled to air Feb '08. Shooting is taking place in LA right now, with principal photography to be done by the end of the year. [anonymous]
I hate that car!
Really hate it! IN fact i hate it so much it makes me angry.
It is one of the worst possible cars they could have picked for Knight rider.
IT does not look sleek high tec it's just plain ugly and common.
I have seen tons of other cars that would have been a better choice even the one in knight rider 2000 was cool.
I like the fake new kitt they put out on the internet better than this .
this car look like some punk kid tryed to mod up his car to look like a high tech kitt and in failed horrible way.
I am not going to watch this new knight rider now it is starting to remind me of team knight rider.
What the heck is that thing, Tangs suck to begin with.
What GM doesn't have something in their bag of goodie cars that they could use for this show. Does't GM want to sell cars like the 80's T/A when the original came out....ahh....memories....mmm.........F-body rules!!!!

THE MUSTANG IS A POS. yOU SHOULD HAVE ATLEAST TEAMED UP WITH GM TO DEBUT KNIGHT RIDER AS A CAMARO AND THEN WHEN ENOUGH PROTOTYPES WERE BUILT OF THE TRANS AM THE SHOW COULD HAVE INTERGRATED KITT INTO IT. tHIS SHOW SHOULD NOT EVEN BE MADE. iT IS DOOMED FROM THE BEGINNING. What a disappointment... GM gripes about publicity, and can't seem to get it through their corporate thick skulls that they are committing suicide in more ways than just this, but going to a FORD simply takes the cake. Hindsight is 20/20, and I'll bet that if Univeral had known in advance what GM would pull back in the '80s, they probably would have went with the Nissan Z as originally planned. That's what you should have went with for this particular car, this particular time. If for no other reason than to slap the face of GM, the Ford does that quite nicely. But to slap the face of the entire following, is unforgivable. I'm surprised that Hasselhoff let himself be talked into this one.

i agree with every comment on here except the one about the do what you want its your bill.....K.I.T.T is t trans am or if lesser a camero NOT a shit stain i mean mustang if only for the movie not the show the camero is a better fit and GM,the new staff,NBC, and everyone involved needs to gets there heads out their asses and get on this ASAP
I think the dodge viper would have been a good choice except I think it would have to have a back seat now theres a sweet car lol. especially in black.
The old K.I.T.T was nice for its time but alot of people bought one because of the show and relized they were a p.o.s. GM hasnt made a decent car since 1981 and wont ever again im afraid. probably would have alot of engine problems and the new ones look really bad....the new camaro is a joke. They finally got a nice car!!!
Typical just typical a bunch guys that dont like a brand of car Ford ,Dodge , Chevy, Ricers, it really doesnt matter if it was not the car that you yourself dream of it sucks you should just be happy that they are bringing back a television show worth watching the crap out now......makes a person watch movies or not even turn the tv on. And as for the car trash talk owned 2 camaros like the car not the repair bill they broke down to much , on my second stang ...one problem in 5 years a window motor....but i like both brands no hate here.

I'm sorry but the 'Stang has stood far above the Trans Am and Camaro for one thing at least(besides that the Camaro and Trans Am fall apart so often and looked alike for the 90's)look at how many are on the road. If you want a car that can ifiltrate and blend in Mustangs work. Their all over. Their popular. I'm just glad they are connecting this one more to the original better than they tried to do with Team Knight Rider, that was a joke that I agree with. This at least from what I have seen and read looks like they will do it some justice.

Poor choice of a car. Should have stuck close to the original. It looks likes a 16 year old souped up his daddys car.
If the movie producers dont listen to the show's fans (and all the cries of disappointment about using this fat, ugly Mustang on forums & websites all over the internet)then the show will bomb & the ratings will suck in a big way. You guys need to turf that Mustang & reshoot the whole thing with something that actually resembles KITT. Hell, even my black 1996 Mazda FD3S RX7 with a red LED Kitt light scanner in one headlight looks far more evil than this hopeless bloated Mustang..
1.) Don't blame the show. GM didn't show enough interest
2.) If it weren't for the Mustang, cars like the Camaro and Trans-Am wouldn't exist, and if it weren't for the current Mustang, the Camaro wouldn't be coming back.
3.) Although I would have liked K.I.T.T. to still be a Trans-Am, it's fitting that due to the basis of the show that the car is the originally pony car.
4.) The Viper was a basis of a similar show in the 90's
