hasselhoff in new pilot for ABC

No, this is NOT an April Fools!

Zap2it.com reported on Monday that Hasselhoff has agreed to make his return to TV in a primetime Pilot that will be shot for ABC. The still untitled pilot is about a young man at a prestigious national magazine which is loosely based on series co-creator Joel Stein's life who was the youngest writer for Time when he started there.

I spoke to Joel Stein, to confirm the validity of this article, since it came to our attention on April fools, and here is what he had to say:

It is all true. David Hasselhoff will save ABC. He's playing a dashing, full-of-himself war correspondent in a sitco (sic) about me when I first got to Time magazine when I was 25, since I'm the only topic that really interests me. Joel

We would also like to remind everyone that while we wish the series all the best in success, it is still uncertain whether this series will ever see the light of day. Alot of Pilots are filmed each year, and a limited number of them are approved to continue into a fully fledged series. Still, with Hasselhoff attached and Colin Hanks (Tom Hanks son, and stared in the hit movie Orange County) in the staring role, we would like to think that this show has a pretty good chance.
