Yup. Airwolf vs. KITT is all dependant upon whom gets the upper...erm...hand?
- KITT is mostly defense. Airwolf - Mostly offense.
- KITT, ground. Airwolf, air.
- KITT: High tech computer on wheels that thinks...and interacts with Humans. Airwolf: High tech machine operated by Humans...whom fought tooth and nail to get rid of the AI that cursed it.
- KITT can go really fast on the ground and fast for a few seconds in the air. Airwolf can go really fast in the air and do 0 to 0 on the ground.
- KITT can barely microjam a decent helicopter that's above him for so many feet away. Airwolf can't microjam KITT. Besides, Airwolf probably has engines powerful enough to not clunk out under MicroJam.
- KITT can dodge missiles and absorb chain gun fired from Airwolf. CAN Airwolf deal with any computer override attempts that KITT or Bonnie/April might try???
- KITT would be in trouble if flipped over. Airwolf would be in trouble if the Lady couldn't fly.
+ KITT and Airwolf would make the greatest team of high tech crime fighters, ever. (Anyone remember the classic arcade/NES game, Silkworm?) But, VS? The two are just so opposites.
Conclusion: Unless one side has a major advantage, it's a draw.

Intersing comparisons Jup.
I agree... mostly.
In Airwolf Season 1, Wolfie did escape from a bunch of helicopters forcing it to stay on the ground by using it's turbos and running on the ground, so like Kitt (only opposite), it can maneuver while on the ground...
But then, I think Kitt will be able to MicroJam the chopper's computer.
The chopper doesn't have MBS and needs a pilot, so it can't get out of the way when Kitt enters its lair without the people present.
Kitt would still be able to dodge missiles etc on his own.
All in all, very near a tie, but I think Kitt will turn Airwolf to toast.

Nice example. I must have never seen The Lady using turbo thrust to skid along the ground. One major bump to one ski would have been absolute disaster...
As for Microjaming the Lady's computer system...that's probably possible...presuming KITT can get close enough. The military probably couldn't have come up with enough electronics shielding to counter that. And...even if Airwolf's high tech circuits go down...can her basics (engine/pilot controls/guns (if already deployed)) still operate? I think so.
As for attacking the Lady in her lair...the whole point is that KITT, nor anyone else, is suppose to be able to figure out where their HQ is at. (Though, a few others do.) KITT has the same issue and weakness, should Airwolf try and make a surprise attack on the Foundation Mobile Command Unit while KITT's inside. (Airwolf, nor anyone else, is suppose to know that KITT can park inside. Though...a few others do.) I don't think they ever established if the Mobile Unit was MBS protected...since KARR could trash into it so easily. Just the auto pilot from season 4 was known.

Well, Airwolf has wheels, not skids.
As to finding the lair, Kitt's scanners could simply follow (at a distance) Stringfellow Hawk when they go to get Airwolf, then wait for them to return after their mission and and go home. then Kitt could have some fun!
Even the basic Avionics of the helicopter is electronic.
Airwolf was designed by "The Firm", for the government, a Knight industries -type setup as far as I know. Probably some of Wilton Knight's adversaries.

I think in the little YouTube video, KITT DID MicroJam Airwolf unsuccessfully. Airwolf had some issues but kept on running. Remember the guys in the cockpit saying they need more power?
Yeah, I think they would be better off as a team than as adversaries.
Like KITT and Airwolf vs. KARR and Goliath perhaps?

That...was awesome. Thanks for the clip!
“Gimme maximum turbo thrust and blast me outta here, will ya!?”

Glad you liked it.

I thought it was cool too, even though I never really got into Airwolf.

I personally thought STREETHAWK kicked butt and the theme tune by Tangerine Dreams is definatley the winner, with Airwolf second and Knight Rider a close third!

Can't believe I didn't think of it sooner...
KITT would know perfectly when to bring Airwolf down. Turn on the radio and tune into the Lady's theme song. The conclusion bit always shows when Airwolf is preparing for that lethal strike...and counter at that moment.
It's a cheesy giveaway...and none too realistic.
