I'd be curious to know when this event actually took place. It isn't much of an article, so by "recently" it could mean weeks or even months ago. Assuming that it did happen since May (when the Weinstein Co. announced they were doing KR, but did not mention Hasselhoff) then it would be a good sign that the Hoff is still involved with the project.

I do think the heading is misleading. "Talk to my manager" is a far cry from "I don't want to do it." Bloom didn't turn down anything.

But it's all speculation of course.

I wouldn't mind him in the KR movie. I think he'd be good. And I think Vin Deisel should be KARR's driver (if they bring KARR back). THAT would RULE! :) He more fits the part. Paul Walker would be a good new driver for KITT. I liked them both in The Fast and The Furious (A DVD I have, btw).

I think there'll be a lot of this going on and speculations, etc. until the movie actually comes out.

Just curious as I don't normally follow movies or anything or even before they are being made, but is this "normal" for an upcoming movie for people to be speculating on it, who'll be in it, what the plot line will be, when it'll be out, etc.? Or is Knight Rider getting a lot of attention lately? If the former, I'm all the happier as it means Knight Rider has some really loyal following. But we already knew that. :) It's just good to see it recognized so much in the media.

Orlando Bloom is a big jerk off!!! Who would turn down such an offer?
Michael: Kitt what matters to me is who you are not what you look like. Sure we don't have the car so we can't turbo boost so we can't go over 200 miles an hour but it was all icing on the cake anyway

^^^Someone who doesn't like Knight Rider as much as us? Just a thought...doesn't make him a "big jerk off".

I would prefer that they use an unknown, though. Moreover, I would hope that they would do what Tobey Maguire did for the Spiderman movies. Nobody really knew of Tobey until he donned the webslinger's costume, but he was so good at bringing Parker to life....I'd hope that whoever they choose to wear the jacket and drive the car, it's someone we as a culture barely know, but who can breathe some genuine life into the role.

I think that is a great idea...bring in someone who isn't well known to do the role. Kinda happend that way with David. Yeah he was on the Young and the Restless before KR but mainly women watch soaps...hehe. KR put his career in motion.

Why have another character to act as Michael Knight? David Hasselhoff is perfect for the role!!! He is an ideal for the show!!! I think he should change his name to Michael Knight...

They are not talking about replacing Michael Knight. They are talking about someone to play as his SON, which would be the main character for the movie. You could argue that Michael should still be the main guy but I think, like others here, that they need a younger, more energetic actor for the main role. I think Michael Knight would be great for Devon's role at the foundation and then some.
One man did make a difference.
