Season 2 DVD Overseas - Music Replacement?

Post by Joe Huth » Wed Jan 25, 2006 9:57 am

Not sure if this has been brought up before, but....everyone knows that the Quantum Leap boxsets have music replaced for the US releases....but it appears that the overseas releases have all the music intact due to different copyright laws. My question is - to those with overseas copies of Knight Rider Season 2 - did they still replace the Prince song in "White-Line Warriors"?

Thanks,
Joe

Yes, unfortunately they did replace it Joe.

Matt
Welcome aboard the Knight 2000.

Thank you. What's all this, it looks like Darth Vader's bathroom?

I have the scandinavian version (with finnish subtitles) and there the song is replaced.

I wonder if this has to do with Prince being too protective of his music? That's hearsay on my part, but just a thought. We should get to see soon enough if the music replacement will occur for other artists come January 31st.

Regarding the Region 2 versions of the second and third seasons of Quantum Leap: Not all is well with the Region 2 audio. Apparently, there are slight audio problems due to the PAL format, causing the audio to be slightly off-pitch. Some sets become pitch corrected, but that doesn't always go smoothly as sometimes slight distortions can be heard. (It's most noticeable when music is playing.) Most people never notice this difference, though.
