My own 3D dash

Post by Knight2000 » Sat Jan 21, 2006 9:28 am

I've been working on my dash for a while, but seeing ChrisFTB's dash made me concentrate on finishing mine instead of playing NFS:Most Wanted.

Anyhoo, it isn't in as much detail as ChrisFTB's. Personally, I never liked the white vertical lines on KITT's dash. A black out panel on the dash would have been better IMO.

I'm still not 100% familiar with 3ds MAX so I can't get everything perfect. Also, am stuck on the switchpod buttons!

Will get round to posting some hi-res pics later on.

...wow - I really like your Gullwing! it looks great! Right now, I have to do some "basic job" - learning to create better NURBS-Objects for the Dash itself ;)

the switchpod is nice to, but here you should add a mesh-smooth filter to the pod itself to round the edges....

And I thought, I am the only one who did it :) lol

Thanks for the compliments.

The gullwing was a <insert profanity> to do - it was harder than the rest of the dash put together.

Still don't know how to make the top half of it curved, like in the show. Will keep working on it though.

As for the switchpod, I was fairly happy with it. Not sure I should apply a MeshSmooth modifier - it always comes out crappy for me. Might give it a try though.
