The Hoff sings Madonna!
I thought this was something kinda interesting. The Hoff is in the news again...
David Hasselhoff to do Madonna
Monday, November 28 2005, 15:52 GMT -- by Fiona Edwards
Former Knight Rider and Baywatch star David Hasselhoff is allegedly planning to release his own version of the Madonna hit La Isla Bonita.
Hasselhoff first did a cover of the Madonna track on his 2004 album 'David Hasselhoff Sings America' and has decided to release the single after it received a massive reaction from his German fans. Hasselhoff enjoys a huge following in Germany.
"It's the one track that gets talked about by my fans, so why not?" the 80s star mused.
Let me know what ya'll think about it.

That sounds fair, doesn't it?
I have a copy of the CD 'DH Sings America', and hey, you know, why not?
I think somehow that DH also has a small following of music fans here in the U.S., too, so I'm all for him having the song "La Isla Bonita" as a music single.
The song is one of my favorite Madonna songs, and I'm glad DH did his own rendition of the song.
You go, DH! Woo!

That was a funny part of the movie. But I hated the song.

I agree that David's song in "Eurotrip" wasn't all that great, but it was still great to see him. I think it was meant as a joke, but at least not at the expense of his Knight Rider fame.
Another recent and very unusual DH cameo was in the Sponge Bob Sqarepants movie. By the way, I only watched it becasue of my little niece.....honest.

D.H's cameo, in the "Spongebob Squarepants" movie is the funniest part of that whole movie, and no, I hadn't heard his song in the "Eurotrip" movie yet.
I wish D.H. the best with the Madonna single, and am glad to listen to it anytime I wish on the CD 'David Hasselhoff Sings America', a CD I have in my CD collection..

Actually, Solid Snake, I'd gotten my copy of "DH sings America" imported, and gotten it from the U.S. version of Amazon.com in May 2005, so no, I don't know of it being a U.S. album release, so wishful thinking, huh?
The CD's enjoyable, and I hope to eventually get some more of his imported CDs, since I'm an American who genuinely likes his music.

Well, Solid Snake, I've genuinely enjoyed DH being a singer for a long time as in 21 years, and he's a lot better at being a singer, in my humble opinion, than most people in the U.S. realize, so thinking of David Hasselhoff just being an actor just doesn't cut it for me at all.
Plus, he did a good job starring in the musical "Jekyll & Hyde".
I hope some more Americans will finally realize that he's a good singer, and not just a wannabe.
Wishful thinking, but hey, I'm stubborn about supporting him as a singer nonetheless.
With war going on in Iraq and the U.S. being something of a police state nowadays, my favorite DH songs are "Freedom for the World" and "Looking for Freedom".

Nice words Lyn, lets hope David will be able to break through in the US someday as a singer.Lyn wrote:Well, Solid Snake, I've genuinely enjoyed DH being a singer for a long time as in 21 years, and he's a lot better at being a singer, in my humble opinion, than most people in the U.S. realize, so thinking of David Hasselhoff just being an actor just doesn't cut it for me at all.

KITTfan: You would be surprised when you hear Davids version. It really sounds cool, sounds very natural.

I've heard DH's version of "La Isla Bonita" several times already, and actually, I like that song a bit more after he had sung it himself. Nice, huh?
That's wishful thinking about DH making it in the music biz in the U.S., since he's not an instant flava of the month, but I don't care; I still like his music.

The Hoff's fame in Germany must be some kind of universal constant, like the speed of light in a vacuum, or something. I've always thought Coca-Cola should make use of his immense status there if they want to increase their sagging sales in that country.
It is also strange that the country which invented its own form of chivalry, which dubiously lacked the compassion for the weak (Hitler aspired to bring back early Germanic chivalry) so well noted in England's own brand of chivalry(yes, England was invaded and partially populated by Germanic tribes, i.e. the Saxons, etc., but they developed their own distinct code of chivalry), should come 180 degrees into embracing a television series completely aligned with English chivalric ideals, and even its aesthetic motifs. Even stranger is Devon's love for German automobiles!
