O/T Making of Dukes Movie

I just got finished watching the making of the Dukes movie and I must say I think its gonna be terrible. The feeling is totally off and everything is to over the top. Im so glad Knight Rider is i the hands of David and Glen Larson because I couldn't stomach Knight Rider being this bad.

fans to avoid the film altogether, saying the way they didnt
want any of the original stars in the film and the way the script was
made it very cheep,slutty and definatly not the family feeling the os was

Actually, the guy who played Cooter on the show was on TV the other night. He says that he's not saying to avoid the movie all together, he said, "Just don't bring your kids to it, thinking that it's a family movie. It's not. Our show was a family show."

It's OK Lost Knight. I personally believe Jessica Simpson prancing around in a bikini is just a shameless ploy that the producers are hoping will attract guys and ultimately make money. My cousin who's 16 has never even seen the original Dukes and will only go to see Jessica. I just think it's sad that people won't be seeing the movie for nostalgia factor but only for some T and A. Oh well that's Hollywood for ya.

My only attraction to see the movie at all is the car. I could care less about the slutty, horrible actress Simpson. But i don't think the car is enough for me to see it...

Well, I believe in God and Jesus, women are beautiful works of art no matter how good or bad they look, low gas prices, more horse power, good Diet drinks, and Richard Hoyt knew his crap when he wrote "Vivienne". I believe "Baba O'Riley" is the only song to truly capture what its like to be a teenager. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment against popstars trying to be actors, which would have been greatly helpful for "Crossroads", "A Walk to Remember" and (yes) "The Dukes of Hazzard" movie and one that allows pornstars to play those roles instead (I vote for Jenna Jameson as Daisy Dukes!). I believe that Mustangs, Cameros and Trans-Ams are true icons of motor vehicles. I believe "Farscape" should have been on the air for another thousand years, the same with "Knight Rider". I believe that pop songs should be outlawed EVERYWHERE in the world. I believe that the film studios need to grow a sack and release "Battle Royale" and "Battle Royale II" in multiplexes. I believe Metallica only sued Napster for publicity because they knew they were going down hill. I believe that the Sonny Bono Act should be outlawed and that any corporate copyrighted items that were suppose to be in Public Domain years ago should be put in Public Domain now, including Mickey the Mouse. I believe recycling should be a MANDITORY thing, that people should treat each other with respect and that for a "Knight Rider" movie, KITT should STILL be in a Trans-Am, no matter what year model it is. And the final thing I believe in that if you can't respect a Michaelangelo and a Picasso with the same ethics, you shouldn't do the same with films.

Hi folks,

OK so I got to see the Dukes this Monday for a sneak peek with the group of radio stations I work for.

The original Cooter was right--this is NOT a family film, lots of cussing, some sensuality and drug use, that parents might not appreciate from their kids.

However, it is funny. Let's also remember here, that this movie takes place in present day, 2005, not the cheesy 70's and 80's when these things were not a part of in-your-face-pop-culture.

I am not an expert of the original Dukes, but I can say that this film is appreciated by both old-timer fans and new fans of the series. The auditorium of contest winners was PACKED with old-time fans of the series who knew EVERYTHING about the series, including two men who owned General Lee replicas and drove them to the theater.

There were no boos, no hisses during the movie, only laughter and lots of applause when the Dukes saved the day.

Our good ol' boys were back running the 'shine, just like they always were and had to save Hazzard and Uncle Jesse from Boss Hogg once again.

Sure, it's not Waylon Jennings, or Tom Wopat, or John Schnieder, or any of the old timers (at least there is no Coy or Vance), but it still was a wonderful ride.

The balladeer would pop in to introduce characters (to make sure the new fans knew who was who) but that never got in the way nor disrupted the plot. It did seem a little awkward because we knew he would pop in just before commercials--but there are no commercials in movies (yet). Either way, it was funny.

Remember the controversy that Warner Bros. was facing with the confederate flag on the General Lee? Well the producers and directors cleverly addressed that issue while still keeping the flag. I wont spoil it, but you will see.

Let's talk about the camera angle and stunts... good gravy... I have never seen more amazing stunts or camera shots in a car-centered movie since Bullitt... just absolutely amazing... it's impossible to describe, go see the movie.

Fans of Super Troopers (directed by the same Director) will appreciate a tongue in cheek interaction between the Dukes and two officers similar to our favorite highway patrolmen.

I do believe that if fans of the old series go in with an open mind to see what their good ol' boys are up to, they will enjoy the film as much as anyone else.

If the Dukes are running shine then that is a major mistake already. They used to run shine years before but were on probation and no longer ran shine.

Fans of Super Troopers (directed by the same Director) will appreciate a tongue in cheek interaction between the Dukes and two officers similar to our favorite highway patrolmen.

Well, I thought Super Troopers was hilarious, so I will keep an open mind when I see the film. But it is the same idea as the original series, and I was never interested in the original series, so for me it isn't enough to see it in theaters. I'll check it out when it comes to DVD or cable.

Well im a Knight Rider fan FIRST, and a Dukes fan SECOND. Even though i was a watcher of DUKES 3 years before KR came out . I gotta tell ya, im EXCITED about this movie, i have been waiting for this since i first heard it announced over a year ago. True, its not EXACTLY like the old show (same thing with Starsky and Hutch, and i LOVED the movie, didnt care for the show ). I cant tell you how happy i am that they RECREATED the General Lee right down to the RARE American Racing Vector wheels. Funny story, it was HARDER to find 2, or 3 sets of those rims than it was finding 26 chargers for the movie replicas, and TRUE STORY, the HERO car (the one you see the actors in or near) is one of the ORIGINAL TV show cars, that WB had in storage, they just detailed it, touched up the numbers, lettering, and flag. So, if they can make a ALL NEW Genera Lee, and a ALL NEW Torino for S&H, im SURE that the studio that makes the KR movie will round up a few 82-92 firebird/trans ams and make replicas of the tv show car, have faith, i know I do
