Voice of Killer K.I.T.T. in K.A.R.R.

Post by Knight-Armen » Sun Jul 17, 2005 4:12 pm

Hi guy's! I was just wondering how it would have been if they were to have the voice of Killer K.I.T.T. in K.A.R.R.! Wouldn't it have been nice? I think it would be perfect. However, K.A.R.R. did his apperiances in the first seasons and Killer K.I.T.T. on the other hand in the fourth, so that's a pitty.

Man, I never thought of that! That's a pretty clever idea! Yeah, that would have been pretty cool! And fitting. :) I think they should have done that vocal effect in the Season 1 KARR as he was malfunctioning so much. Probably Season 3 too until John fixes him. I always loved how Paul Frees did KARR so I wouldn't trade that one. Peter Cullen did great in Season 1 though. He put some humor behind it as well. :)

Interesting idea, but the appeal of K.A.R.R.'s voice was that it was similar to K.I.T.T.'s (being an older man & all). KITT was much nastier in "Killer K.I.T.T." than KARR ever was, though. Ultimately, I think KARR as a character works best being creepy and manipulative. He almost seems like he could be a friend when you first meet him, but nothing could be less true!

Exactly! I think that... well what if Karr can do a apperiance in the new movie with the Killer Kitt voice!

"Karr has grown more angry than ever. His voice has changed and his target now is to kill everyone and everything in his way."

This might sound a little bit sarcastic but, I would like to see Michael and Kitt fail against Karr once. That would have been interesting. Karr destroys the FLAG Mobile Headquarters. However Kitt stays alive, but he becomes weak and then Michael tries to save him etc.

I like when KITT gets damaged, his voice "reverts" back to the electronic tone it had in the pilot episode. Since KA.R.R. was prototype, maybe his voice should've been completely synthetic & eletronic sounding, like a robot talking. At least in Trust Doesn't Rust since it, and the 1st season generally, seemed to be more "scientific" approached, KITT talking about Zeno's paradoxes and all

Dave Knight - The first appearance of KARR (and the mention of Zeno's paradox by KITT) was in the First Season episode called "Trust Doesn't Rust". Peter Cullen voiced KARR in that episode.

The 2nd appearance of KARR was in Season 3's KITT vs. KARR. Paul Frees voiced KARR in that episode.

Well, maybe not exactly the same in the pilot episode but for example in Goliath (2nd season, after Goliath hit KITT), Knight of the Drones (3rd season, when he was fired in the exhaust and KITT was talking to Bonnie "It's so dark here, is it night?") and Junk Yard Dog (3rd season, from the tv set "I guess my humour mode needs more work."), when KITT was damaged, his voice got more metallic, electronic tone in it.
