KITT: same trans am or something new?????

hi, I'm new here and I have a quiestion

I heard that there might be a new Knight Rider movie proposed to be made soon. I'm wondering if they should stick to the same Trans am from the 80's or should they go for a noew look for KITT

I really like the original 80's look I didn't really like the "KR 2000 Movie" look. But I was think why don't they modify it with a newer version of the trans am series like the 2001 trans am. Or maybe some other sports car that might be coming out in the future. What do you guys think?

Well... I agree with you. The Trans-Am from the 80's is really better looking than the Dodge Stealth in Knight Rider 2000, IMO.
In a interview David were asked if they were to bring back the Trans-Am from the 80's and he said:

- Well... same car and new car!

That dosen't say much does it? The reason is that they simply haven't put the story together yet. The first draft however is to be done by the original producer Glen A. Larson, that is for sure. And recently the producers claimed that they didn't want the car to talk!
David told them that, either he makes a movie with the car talking or he dosen't! That is probably it! I really don't know anything more than that... but we really hope that they won't spoil the movie as they did with Knight Rider 2000. That movie was a real discrase. O, and one more thing, if you wanna know the source just look at the old posts or just go to the site moviehole.net However they might have moved the Knight Rider News so you might have a hard time finding it, and it's no idea of mailing them beacuse they won't answer. Believe me I've tried several times!

I think they should stick with the original design for KITT and get a different design for that other car.
One thing about KITT that should be changed, though:
have KITT be equipped with a hybrid(half-gas, half-electric) engine.
That will make KITT be environmentally friendly and up-to-date in time for this "Knight Rider" movie.

^^KITT never really ran on normal gas, anyway, so they don't have much to change as far as that's concerned, anyway. And they should keep his 80's look, because new cars are stupid, and 80's cars are sleek, thin, and have style. All new cars are designed to be "cool" and therefore have that "thick" kind of look to them, to blend in with the "thug car" Jap look. I hate new cars.

Kitt should be the same Trans Am because if movies like Dukes of Hazzard and Starsky & Hutch can use their old cars why not Knight Rider.

I definitly think that the original 80's trans-am forms the character of KITT. No other model or make would ever be able to be KITT. It would be interesting to see another car along with KITT.

I fully agree with that. Cars from the 80's were sleek, thin, with a good mix of curves and lines. In comparison, cars from the 2000's and even a few of the 90's just have one curve too many, and some look fat. They all look like ugly, sloppy eggs! Look at what happened to our Honda City- it was a nicely designed car earlier, but now it's got this outrageous and extra-ugly spaceship look!

These days, I sketch many original car designs, and there is always a clear 80's influence in every one of them. Designs from the 50's and the 60's (large, flamboyant, decorative) were not too bad either, though the 70's cars were too boxish. But nothing lke the cars of the 80's. Then came the decline in quality of design with the Japanese cars. The newer Trans Ams don't look so bad, but I would still prefer the 1982 designs. New Ford Mustang- UGH!!!!!
