Knight Rider "stuff"

Post by Knight224 » Tue Jun 14, 2005 12:25 pm

EEEE!!! I'm soooo happy! Around Christmas my step mom's sister came up from California with her two daughters and her husband. Her husband was from New Zealand and her daughters had never been to PA, so she wanted to show them Amish country. We took them to see Roots (an outdoor vegetable shop thinger) one freezing cold night. It was so cold that we went into one of the few indoor shops. This one was FILLED with old books. But in the very back was a small booth set up with a ton of toy cars. AND THERE WAS KITT!!!! I wanted to squeel with joy like a little girl but people would look at me funny, so I didn't. My step mother said it was a peice of junk and wouldn't let me buy it for what the guy was asking.

ANYWAY, today I go back there and the same car is sitting in the same place just begging me to buy him! Remember that this is MONTHS later! This time I have my own money, so I talk the price down with the guy to something reasonable. AND KITT's MINE!!!! YAY!!! He tried to sell me the semi, too, but it was only the tractor part AND it was bright orange. So I said maybe next time.

My poor KITT has some unknown substance on the roof and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to get it off without hurting the car? It's not a matchbox car. It's one of those little plastic cars with the metal bars on the bottom so it can run around on a track. It still has the original stickers and has to be over 20 years old!!!

EEEE AGAIN! I ordered my Knight Rider Legacy book from Boarders a few nights ago. Around here they sell for $60 on average, so I was lucky to get mine for $30. And I didn't have to pay for it, because I had a gift certifigate! ANYWAY, the girl says to check the book before I leave the store to see if it is in the same condition as they said it was and to make sure no pages are missing. Well, I have never had this book before so how would I know if anything is missing!?!?! Does anyone have this book? How many pages and are they all numbered? Thanks.

Thankies muchly!!! Sorry I mixed up David’s age when he started Knight Rider and how long Knight Rider has been around. But I was close! I found a date on the bottom (1981) so the car is 24 years old. But Knight Rider wasn't aired until 1982, was it? It was made by the Ideal Toy Corp and has a number 4 on the bottom too, whatever that means. I'll post pictures soon.

The pages are numbered, so you can always check for missing numbers. I own the book, but I actually have problems with pages coming loose and slipping out, so maybe that's what the girl was talking about. I find that the pages weren't glued in well enough to the spine. Not that big of a deal, though, as the book is thick enough that I can keep the pages in place. Anyway, it's a great book and well worth the money-- you won't be disappointed!

My book is the 2nd version (with Rebecca Holden interview) and the page count starts after the foreword, Acknowledgments and introduction from "chapter one A Shadowy Flight...". The last page is 415 (Bibliography).
New books have different cover but the content should be the same.
Got the book in February 2003 and not one single page have come loose yet.
