Hello again KR fans. Here's something special I've been doing this time around.
Knight Rider theme (Toni Nummela remix)
This my own version of the much-loved Knight Rider theme. It was done almost completely in Propellerhead Reason 3.0. I've been doing music with computers for over 10 years now and also many versions of the theme. This is finally the version I'm almost complete satified with.
I've tried to have some influences of
Chris Walden (the Orchestral version) and the original feel in some content. I also tried to add some punch and toughness to the theme without losing the hero-feel of the tune. The overall style got some influences from
The Crystal Method and maybe some from a Finnish hero-metal band called
Teräsbetoni (Don't ask

).
One important element was to try to keep the ticking wah-guitar similar to the original version. I think I did a good job with that. The guitar you are hearing is not a sample but a soft synth version made in Reason from a scratch by me.
The last thing I tried to accomplish was to bring something new to the theme. That's why it doesn't follow the original version in every beat.
But enough of the talk. Lets hear it. Hope you'll enjoy.

Wow, really nice, thanks for sharing
I used to do with Playstation's Music creator some Knight Rider style music, the kind what's playing during the episodes, driving scenes, car chases etc. but never was quite happy with the results.
I was after the 2nd season style, tried to get done the "sliding" filter effect (?) you can hear for example in "A Good Knight's Work" when Michael goes sneeking around to the toy factory. I love that effect, it's so right to the Knight Rider

I did too! I loved how Toni put some reverb in it. It's SO 21st-Century-ish!
I hope somehow he can get David Hasselhoff to hear this tune. That would be a good one for the Movie theme!

They song rocks Toni! I have it dowloaded to my computer and have been listening to it everyday. It would definitely sound kick-ass in the new movie!

Flyer Guy: "You really a talking car?"
KITT: "No. I'm a tight end for the Chicago Bears!"

Mate, you should be proud! This has to be the best remix version i've ever heard
You've captured the elements exceptionally well..
Did anyone else's emotions stir? Visualising it with the opening title of a new movie, perhaps?
Well done! Is there anything that you can't do Toni?
Regards
Adam

And my memory is quite selective

Toni, that was absolutely fantastic!!!
It took me ages to download the file because I have only 56kbps modem connection and FlashGet told the download speed was average 4.77 k/s, but it was worth it!
Many thanks for the guitar sound, it is very much the main thing in KR theme. The high sounds at the end of the remix were the best, I have nothing bad to say about this remix of yours!

Michael: "Someone tried to kill me yesterday."
Devon: "I have an alibi."

Hi Toni,
Just listened to your KR arrangement. Very nice. I think that you and all of the KR fans will be surprised when they hear the KR theme remix in the new KR Soundtrack album being released in three weeks. It was done from the original 24 track master and we did a lot of updating sound wise. Check out
http://www.stuwho.com on June 27. It will also be available at:
http://www.filmscoremonthly.com.

OK. How much more impressed can I be?!

Thanks for listening.

The Original Master! This makes my heart feel warm. From what I've learn it's been like: "Yeah we've got the funkiest tv-theme ever, but unfortunately we had to erase the master to record another tune over it" or usually something similar like that. I'm glad that this one has survived.
But 24 tracks? From what I've listened I can sort out 12 to 16 tracks maximum. Man would it be interesting to see and hear the tracks independently. But I'm sure this new version will be something worth listening. Can't wait!

I don't know what's wrong with the BBCode but definitely something has changed with the Board Software.
Well you can get it
from my /audio/ -directory by selecting "Knight Rider theme" from there.
