What is the name of the actor that played the part of Michael Long in the pilot "Knight of the Phoenix"?

yeah, I agree, and I think D. Hasselhoff gave the guy some rave reviews on the "Knight Rider" pilot commentary, too, in a roundabout way......
I'd say, however, that the personality of Mr. Long belonged to D. Hasselhoff though. Just a thought.

Anderson did a great job! (For what it was).

He actually moves a lot like Hasselhoff, which helped the transition between actors.

Mr. Anderson did a great job as Michael Long. What I liked about him is the way the sound effects people did a great job of merging David's voice to Larry's lip movement. When I saw the pilot for the first time as a kid, I thought his voice was exactly like David's.
