KARR's Silver Paint Job

In episode "KITT vs KARR", we see KARR's lower half painted silver as he and John pull up to the ATM. Was it KARR's idea to have himself painted to avoid being recognized by KITT. Also, was it John who did the actual paint job or did they stop at a local Macco paint shop. Most likely, KARR had John paint him half silver, since John was supposedly broke.

i think from memory karr wanted to change his appearence
so he would look different from kitt.
as for who did it i have no idea?

There was a deleted scene in syndication where K.A.R.R. states that he wanted to "alter his appearance." It wasn't specific, but it was obvious that he meant that he wanted to look different from K.I.T.T. probably because for one, he was trying to hide out and was something of a fugitive, and two, he despised KITT, F.L.A.G., and Michael and wanted to change himself.

That's a good question on how exactly KARR got painted though. John was broke, so it wasn't likely that he was able to take him to an auto shop....and when we see John at the ATM, this was after KARR had already been painted, so I think John must have spray painted KARR himself behind-the-scenes in the garage. Eddie had cash, but KARR was painted before he became involved.

It would have been a lot clearer if KARR took John to the ATM and hacked a few extra thousand dollars (on top of the $5,000) to get a paint job. But then again, KARR was trying to keep a low profile, so going to an auto shop and risking being seen getting a paint job probably wouldn't have been the smartest thing to do. John must have done it.

KARR's silver paint job may have given him some cover, but his scanner and license plate would definitely give him away.

well, the police was searching for a black trans am, that's why they arrested michael and KITT. Propably that's why KARR wanted the silver paint job.
as to who did it... i guess it was john, he may have been broke, but remember that he repaired boats, he would have everything in the garage to do the paint job

karr wanted to alter his appearance to hide from michael and kitt. john was the one who painted karr in a little wooden garage that i believe was on eddie's property. this was left out on the show when i seen it a few years back but was shown the last time the sci-fi cahnnel aired this episode.

I missed seeing all the clipped portions of the episode, but I agree with everyone. It had to be John. Eddie couldn't do it for two reasons:

1. Eddie didn't know about KARR
2. Eddie was still in the hospital, recovering from his pace maker suffering an "unexplained malfunction".
