KITT gets insurance in the UK

Post by Sue » Wed Apr 01, 2009 1:19 pm

I saw this and it made me smile. But it may also come in handy for anyone looking to insure their KITT in the UK.

swiftcover has revealed its quotes for a range of ‘specialist’ vehicles, including Knight Rider’s iconic KITT Trans Am and Marty McFly’s DeLorean from Back to the Future, although the insurer points out that use in crime fighting and time travel is not covered.
1982 Pontiac Trans AM KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) as seen in Knight Rider
Premium £20,000. Price reduced because car is protected by KITT. No cover for KITT. No cover for rockets, ammunition or explosive devices or for loss, injury or damage arising from their usage in fighting the shadowy forces of crime. Driver must keep his hands on the steering wheel when driving.

KITT the car you-insure with auto-insurance.
KITT the AI- you insure with life insurance. *giggle*
For me- he would need a Multi-Million dollar policy and that would still not be enough.

I loved those two lines, they are mind blowing:
1- "although the insurer points out that use in crime fighting and time travel is not covered"
2- "Driver must keep his hands on the steering wheel when driving"
they mean it???? its really good. Image :kitt:
