Is it Michel or Mike???

I have noticed something confusing,
In the bank episod "sorry I am not very good with names", When Michel was on the ground and the woman infornt of him was scared he introduced him self as Mike!!!
In the last episod "Fly by Knight", When Michel met the DEA agent, he inroduced him self as Michel. but later on when Zoe was talking with the mother, she said "mike is the best there is".

What is going on?? in the First episod, We have been told that Mike is dead and Michel Knight is alive, Right???
why keep refering to him as two different names????

I think Mike is more an affectionate name and Michael is his formal name. It was more his last name of Traceur that was changed when he was declared dead.
