I dont know if this has been talked about but i always wondered where KITT's rear spoiler came from since its not from a Shelby or GT & just from obeserving the new Mustang i found that they used the rear spoiler from 08 V6 Pony Mustangs. This is for those going to make a replica of any sort.
08 V6 Pony Mustang rear pic, notice anything familar?

Perfectly good explaination for that. The GT500KR Mustang used in the pilot is a prop, its a retro fitted base Mustang, as the real GT500KR is not available yet. I myself like that spoiler.

Yes i know all this, but thank you. The reason i posted this was because the spoiler has been discussed but never its origin.

Heres something interesting, since ive been obsessed with the new Shelbys ive found that the 08 Shelby GT500KR car number 1 also used this spoiler & KITT is a exact replica of this car minus the dash, steering wheel & emblems. The car is black with flat black stripes.

the one in the above pic is the one they used on the show and its from the v6 "pony package" however the one in the video is a real gt500 kr and its spoiler is different notice how it extends past the rear deck the v6 ones don't do that...they are similar guess thats why knight rider used that one as a stand in.

pony package
gt500kr
notice how the 500 one points upwards and past while the v6 one sits on the rear deck with only a slight upward point and also has indentions on the top where the shelby ones don't...guess they wanted kitt to have a sleeker backend??? idk i will be using the pony one on mine though

The spoiler used on the pony package was used on the 08 Shelby GT500KR car number 1 & the new KITT. I know the differences very well on the cars, look at the youtube video i posted. Thats the real GT500KR car number 1 & its the pony package spoiler, not the GT500 one, notice how it doesnt flare up & has the indents in it, plus its not as long as you think. The 08 GT500KR number 1 & the new KITT are cosmeticly identical except for the snake emblems, they have the 40th design on them as KITT does not have the bar that runs under the snake also the glass roof.
