QUESTION ON CONTINUITY

Post by TARICANIJM » Fri Jan 25, 2008 2:03 pm

I have a question that I hope someone can answer. Is the new pilot on NBC simply overlooking the Knight Rider 2000 movie, and acting like it didnt happen. In all of the news about the upcoming pilot, which I am looking forward to, there is no mention of the 1991 movie. No mention of the Knight 4000 (the red car), or anything that has happened since. They are calling this KITT the Knight 3000, are they going back in numbers? I think some loyalists would have been more pleases with a little continutity within the franchise. Don't get me wrong I am appreciative and excited about NBC's attempt at a re-birth, I am just curious as to its setting.

I'm pretty sure they're ignoring KR2000, at least I really hope they are. There's been no mention of it and I don't think there are that many who actually would want that abomination to remain canon to the original series, I'm sure there are those who felt that way since it first aired almost 17 years ago. It's not just hated by the majority of fans but by even the people who worked on it, including David Hasselhoff.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great! :skar:

Perhaps the theory I posted 15 days ago might help explain a few things . . .

Bartis: I have watched all that stuff. I watched "Knight Rider 2000" and I even saw "Team Knight Rider." I don't think there are any inconsistencies. Nobody is going to watch this and go, "Wait a minute, that's contradictory to the mythology in "Knight Rider 2000."
That's very encouraging to hear. That's what I was hoping for despite the fact that very few fans actually liked Knight Rider 2000.

It was posted over on our replica board by the owner of the restored Knight 4000 that he was indeed contacted by the NBC/Universal production and arrangements made to have the 4000 available for a "cameo" but at the last minute it was decided to scrap the appearance entirely...

Thats weird Bo. From what we had heard with our interviews with Bartis and Andron, they are completely ignoring TKR and Knight Rider 2000.

What I was told was that it was going to be a "background" vehicle.. like a Test Car.. but not really mentioned in any way... maybe just a *wink and a nod* to those that know the car...

Ah, cool then. Maybe they were going to have the new KITT crash through it? Heh.

I suppose if they are going to ignore Knight Rider 2000 completely, it can't really disrupt the continuity it presented, because that's what it's sounding like. I'm doubting that we're going to hear anything about Devon, much less the circumstances surrounding his death.
