Hi, i am kitamura from japan.
I hardly understand English, if I have impoliteness, please allow.(Sorry!)
I made the sensor of KITT to the WINDOWS desktop.
Please try, and if it excels, download.
http://www001.upp.so-net.ne.jp/kitamura ... KN2093.EXE
PS.
Installation develops KNIGHT2.EXE, and .TXT. And Shortcut is made by the desktop. (TXT has only Japanese. Sorry!)
Execution of Shortcut/KNIGHT2.EXE displays a sensor.
An option menu will be displayed if a right click on a sensor.
Please set up according to liking.
and
It is not a virus. (Although it will be hard to believe even if I say)
please tell me comment.
Best Regards.

do you have a screen shot of this or any more information on what it does? just a little weary of installing an .exe file from someone who just started on this board. nothing personal, but in the time of viruses, i'd be a little cautious.

OK.. Never fear..
I had another machine that I loaded this on and tested. It's good.. I've installed it, uninstalled it, installed it again, booted my machine up with it, and I found no viruses that effected Win98 2nd. But I haven't tested it on XP or any other OS.
It's a neat program, no praticle function, just eye candy, but fun to tinker with.
Nice job kitamura, keep up the good work.

Oh.. And with kitamuras permission, perhaps someone like neal could write an installer in english for him. It wasn't to hard to figure out for me, but other people might have a tough time with it..

What does the effect(s) look like?
I'm envisioning something simple, along the lines of a small window that has eight black spaces that go from black to red to fading red and back to black in a sequential order that pops up on your desktop. Is this program like that?

Yes, and no..
Yes it is a sequencial lightbar, and fairly simple. But you can change the size, amount of blocks, color, position, speed, and it has some simple 3D propeties. I think it's pretty cool..
It hardly takes up any space, so try it.. If you don't like it delete it.

thanks for being the guinea pigs guys. looks good! can the position of the scanner be adjusted? is that KITT car part of the program or just your wallpaper? Mac user here so I probably will never get to play with the application.

lol, na the KITT pic is my wallpaper. the scanner box is just over it. you can drag it anywhere you want around the screen, it stays ontop of everything though, so if you maximise your web browser the scanner will still be on top.

Keep playing with it Newcastle, right click on it and you get options. The bar can be free or fixed, and can also be positioned on the top, or the bottom across the whole screen, or on either side scanning up and down as aposed to left and right.
I don't have a screen capture program, or I'd take several shots and post them..

You may not need a screencapture program, PrintScreen button takes a snapshot (copies it) of everything what's on the screen, you can paste it to photoeditor or even Windows paint. That works at least in Win98SE.
If you press alt+PrintScreen you'll have a snapshot from the single active window.
Only thing where I can't take snapshots with windows are asf-videofiles, it shows only black screen in mediaplayer.
I also like Newcastle Knight's wallpaper, really cool KITT :)

I found to, that you can run as many aplications of this as you want. Though more than two tend to trip it up, especialy if you run it at a fast speed..
The different variables make it very nice. I'd like to see other things added to this. Sound perhaps, or maybe other animated ports.
Very cool..

Wow.. this is GREAT! I've got both KITT and KARR on my desktop right now.
I like the way it stays with you, NEAT TOUCH.. If you are switching programs (as I do from AOL to WORD while online) it doesn't get hid in the background under all the open windows!
Excellent job. Kudos!

I scanned it with my Norton 2002. It checks out.
I have it positioned just above the main taskbar, so it's
non-intrusive. You have to look for it. It's really cool
looking. Very good job kitamura!

I supplemented the top message. Please see.
It had released in Japan in 1999.

And, Creation of the English version was challenged.
Do someone make English .TXT? Please...

I'm using Windows XP and it seems to run ridiculously slow. My system is a P4 1.8 GHz with 512MB of DDR333 RAM. I can't drag it anywhere and it takes 5 minutes for the menu to show up. Is something wrong?

Could be XP, or something you have running in the background.
I only have one machine here running XP, and I haven't tried it on that one..

New guy here.
Thanks kitamura. Is it possible for someone to make a desktop image that will work with the theme so it will look like the computer is talking?
for instance a close up of the dash voice box and when you do something or whatever it will modulate (talk).
thanks
Knight X
p.s. I am running xp and it works fine

Hi, this is kitamura
It became impossible to use 'kitamura' of a username suddenly.

why
Since it is unavoidable, the one more username was acquired.
When this is a problem, please teach me a suitable solution.
...
I upgraded KNIGHT2.000.
http://www001.upp.so-net.ne.jp/kitamura ... IGHT2.html
(

Please install by the user with authority.)
changed...
:The installer was put into English.
:The max of blocks was 50 pieces.
:The option of illuminations is added.
:The registry was used if the output to ini was not completed.
Best Regards.

Very very nice
If possible, could you make the fact that its always on top an option, i would really like to have the scanner in the middle of my desktop without it coming on top of all the windows.
If possible, that'd be great. Nice job man.
