It was on Ebay, but now I bought it from him. I have a question. Is the WS6 L69 5.0 liter 305 H.O. engine with 190hp and 240 ft lbs, pretty good, by Trans Am standards?

Man, that is one BEEEAUTIFUL CAR!! And the interior looks imaculate! Looks like you'll just need PMD seats to match. ;)

Nice find! :)

Is that the Recaro version? (I don't know much about it but it looks almost like one to me...?)

Nope, not Recaro. The option wasn't available at the time, but everything else is the FULLY loaded including that 305 HO WS6 L69 engine.

My 92 has more hp with it's V6, but you got me on torque.

The early 3rd gens were not known for power.

Nice find, however. If you don't mind me asking, how much?

Edit: I believe the Recaro option was available till 85. The PMD option was not I believe. Could be wrong. I recall reading that overstock N89 Turbo Cast wheels made there way onto some 84s even though they officially (or was not intended) did not come with them so the same could be true with the seats. However, my father bought an 82 S/E Firebird that had them and he said they were very popular at the time and were a major selling point of the car.

Beautiful car and great condition, too. It also has very good mileage for a car that old.

yes, a good find indeed!

i dont know how good a transAm would be in AK, but if i was anywhere else and had a lot of money saved up, a TransAm would be the first thing i looked for.

thats the only downside of living in alaska....transam's aren't very useful. and thats a pretyt big disappointment. oh well....

Wow that's an awesome car! Also for being an 11 year old vehicle it's in incredible shape! Looks like you got yourself a great find. Congrats! :D

Try 21 yr. old vehicle. (It's an 84, the 94 models were more rounded ;) ) And yes, VERY good shape for a classic! :)

Yeah very awesome car. Very nice. Yeah your engine doesn't have all that much power as the later one's but they still look like they have a lot of power. Nearly 200 HP is not bad. Is it a carburater or a Thottle body injection system?

4 B Carb. Crossfire wasn't available in 1984 for F-Bodies. Crossfire gives it 10 more horses than regular. but 240 lb ft of torque, now that's nice!!!

Don't feel bad, we all make mistakes. :) They DID make Trans Ams up until I think 2002 was the last year? (Someone with some Trans Am history knowledge want to correct me on that, please?)

And it being over 20 years old, and technically a classic in that good shape, I'd say he got a good deal. I wish I could find one that nice in that year. Though I would need to win the lottery to buy it.

Don't feel bad, LadyV. I bet I'm worse at math than you are! And I need it to graduate this week!

That car is in amzingly good shape. I've never seen a non-KITT trans am who's interior didn't look like crap. Nice find!!

The problem is that if I ever found a Trans Am in that condition, I'd have a real hard time converting it to K.I.T.T.

Leave it to TurbomanKnight to come up with a good one.

I agree with Lost Knight though. That car looks so sweet I'd hate to mess with it.

The only car I would not even touch to convert, is a GTA. Really, they are the best looking Trans Ams! 8)
