Your experience buying knight rider season 2

Post by Knight Racer » Tue Apr 12, 2005 8:15 pm

I would like to hear about everyones experience today trying to buy the dvd's.I was at work all day thinking about it.I called best buy and had the girl there check how many copies they had left. She said 4 at about 1 o'clock.Last year they had 34 copies they ordered by 1 they had 19 left.I asked her to hold one for me she said she wouldn't be there. After some sweet talking, she agreed to have the games sales rep there hold one copy for me.I got there they had 9 left. They had about 20 A teams .Bought both for 43 each.I was thinking about watching knight, mares all day..

My experience went quite smoothly. I made sure to call Best Buy in advance because I didn't want to drive a half hour to get there for nothing. I didn't count how many copies they currently had at that Best Buy, but from what you said, it sounds like there a lot more KR fans out there than I expected. Yay! :D

Actualy its quiet the opposite.Knight Rider didn't have too many fans among my friends.I found out the first season release they ordered 34 copies but when i got there there were still 19.Today there were 10 copies after she rechecked the back.I got there, there were about8 left.I think there making sure not to get more then they need because I styill saw a bunch of season 1 there today.

I thought mine was going to go fairly well, that was until I saw one of my co-workers on the side of the road with her hazards on and some damage to her car! It turned out that she had experienced a hit-and-run. She also hit a bench in the process of trying to dodge the run away. So I pulled over to give her a hand and just stand-by until the cops show up. But it turned out she had already been waiting for an hour and i stayed there for about another hour until the cops showed up. I then decided i would take her to where she needed to go because she was undersandably shaken up and didn't want to drive anymore. But long story short (too late i know)I finally got Knight Rider season 2 at around 0630pm. (I had left right after the marathon was over!) But what can i say i helped a friend in need. :D

Oops! Well I guess that goes to show you how much I actually know. But it doesn't matter anyway. I got myself a copy and I am very, VERY happy. Sorry, I just love that smiley.

i called the local wally world and asked the schmuck in the electronics dept. if they had it. he came back a few minutes later and told me "no" i then asked him when they will be getting them in and he replied by telling me they don't know.
well, i had to run a few places and figured i'd go out of my way to head to wally world. there were some things i needed to pick up but it was just a hidden reason to see if they had it so i could get my hands on one :D
i walked up to the rack and there it was for $37.84? the sad thing is the dick that said they didn't have it was working the counter and it was about 5 feet away from his fat face standing at the register. i felt like calling him from my cell from another isle and asking him if he is sure they don't have it and that i was the one that called earlier, just to see his response but i think i would have walked up and hit the lazy POS over the head with a copy after being told "no" a second time.
the main reason he pissed me off is because wal mart always sells the tv season box sets $10 cheaper on the first day of their release. if i would have waited another day going on the idiots word, i would have paid $10 more.
oh well, enough bitching..... i'm going to start season 2 :D

I went straight to WalMart for mine, figuring I'd get the lowest price there and after seeing it listed at about $38 at Target and Best Buy.

I was right - the price was $34.84. Not bad at all. At that price, it's a no-brainer. They had an empty box on display in the aisle. I asked one of the workers for it, and he quickly pulled one out of a box at the register.

First ep I watched was Knightmares.

And hello board! I've cruised this site before, but hadn't looked at it for a while, and decided to register to take part in the conversations here. I was 11 in 1982, and was a huge Knight Rider fan. I would drop anything and everything to watch Knight Rider, and would do whatever I had to do to make sure I never missed it.

Well I woke up and set the tape up and also was kinda pissed because my parents didnt have the money to buy it for me as a birthday gift and Im broke at the moment... So I was kinda bummed. I went to work and looked at the box before the store opened and kinda got sad... while i was there i looked to see we only had 7 in stock (we are a smaller store so we dont stock up much on season dvds) so anyways i was bummed when I had to leave work without it. So I went to my grandmas straight from work and did some yard work and earned enough money to go back to work and pick up my copy... The same exact copy I picked up earlier in the morning. So by 1:30 we hadnt sold a single copy of it. I bet when i go in tommorow we will have either the 6 remaining and find that they didnt sell a single one after me. And I had plans to hang out with my friends afterwards and its already past midnight and I still havnt gotten to sit down and watch it yet. But I know in about 10 minutes im popping Disk one in and start with Goliath :-D

Well I was bored last night after American Chopper so I went out to our local Wal-Mart around 2 am. I thought all Wal-Marts were 24 hours. Hell that's were we always went after the bars shut down when I was in the service. Well the one is East Bakersfield isn't. So I ran down to Target bright and early and snagged a copy. Nothing too dramatic. Had to go straight to class. There was a mighty big temptation to skip. Only managed to watch "Soul Survivor" so far. My girlfriend will be up for her spring break and boy is she in for a surprise. Her birthday is tomorow so I bought her season 2 of Friends and the final episode of Friends as retalitory ammunition. Bought her season 1 last year. At least that season had merit, they had a monkey.

Monkeys are cool.

I received my own DVD set the day before the delivery date, April 11th, and I'm enjoying it so far, even if I hadn't seen all the 2nd season episodes on DVD yet.
Fortunately, no disc function problems so far....:)

I ordered mine from deepdiscountdvd.com

Paid $36.00 and got free shipping. All the stores wanted at least $50 dollars for it.

I should get it early next week. :) sweet

UPS just delivered mine this afternoon. I STILL have to put in just under 10 hours yet of work but I think I'll play hookie a couple more hours and go watch the DVDs. ;) I think I like the White Line Warriors one sounds interesting so I'll dig into that. I guess I wasn't too big a fan of Goliath. But I'll get to see them all. Probably like Season One - Over and over and over and over. ;) They are all pretty good so I'll skip around to what I find interesting first, then go on and watch the rest.

KR day for me! :)

Making sure no one was walking by the DVD area in Target, I unzipped my jacket and slowly slid the DVD set in.

:D

Actually, I haven't gotten it yet. I'm hoping when I go to Tower Records next week on a field trip, I'll be able to buy it with my souviener money.

Friends was so cool. Sucks that they ended it. Man, the last ep was sad.

To any of you who work in retail, I apologize. For I am a "front-facer". Whenever I go into Best Buy or similar store, I take any Knight Rider DVDs and spread them out across the display.

I did it 20 years ago with the "Night Rocker" album in Record Town, and I do with DVDs today. Can't help it, I'm compulsive. :)

Buys it.Drives home.Opens up case.
Fanboy giddiness spouting.
Ready for new round of wholesome KR goodness.
Fell asleep until 4a.m. before watching a single episode.GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
Went through the workday pining for my KR.
But now the time has come.Enjoy your sets.I know I will.
If only I had a nickel for every time someone cut me off on the parkway and wished for a Turbo-Boost or Micro-jammer...
