Local Season 2 Prices

Post by neps » Mon Apr 11, 2005 7:53 am

Just curious what prices people are finding locally for the Season 2 set. This way people purchasing not over the net can get the best deals.

I've found the following:

BestBuy $37.99
CircuitCity $34.99
Target $37.99

If you are a member of BestBuy's "reward zone" you can get an additional $5.00 off the set bringing the total to $32.99. (the reward zone is $9.99) for one year.

Please post any deals you find!

All those prices are the same here in my neck of the woods. I think WalMart is selling it for $42 here. I think that's a bit steep. I might just drive the extra few miles to the Best Buy for the better price.

That doesn't really help there. We're looking for non employee discounted prices. But thanks. :)

I've heard that Best Buy will match Circuit City's price if they have a product that is cheaper. This could help if one place is easier to get to than the other for some people.

Anyone spotted it at Costco already? Sometimes they have DVD's that are set to be released during a given week stored in cardboard boxes under the shelves where the DVD's are displayed. I plan on checking Costco since they usually have a very good price and because I have $27 on my Costco cash card that I could spend there. :-D

Not sure. They are listing Magnum PI for $33.99, but Knight Rider isn't mentioned on their website.

I talked to someone at my local Best Buy store last month and they said the price would be $34.99 for season 2. I also asked Circuit City and they said they would probably have it on sale the first week at around $32.99 or something like that. :D

The prices listed at the top are confirmed from their circulars. So CircuitCity is actually 34.99 and Bestbuy is $37.99 (unless you belong to their reward program and the price drops 5 dollars).

Just want to make that clear so people don't run there tomorrow without knowing.

I was at my Citcuit City again tonight and this time they told me $34.99...I don't know where that other guy got the idea it was cheaper before when I went to ask. I'm glad I went back to make sure.

Can't wait until tomorrow!

I had purchased mine from Amazon.ca in Canada for $43.13. I had pre-ordered it 3 months in advance. Now the price has increased to almost $46 CDN.

Between Amazon and Walmart - all the rest is about $10 more. And, get this, don't know if anybody else has noticed but the Season 1 DVD set has increased dramatically in price. Pre-orders are the best!

If you have a Meijer store in your area, they automatically match the lowest advertised price without taking an ad in the store. I got mine for $34.99 there.

My price was $34.84 at WalMart, which IIRC was $3 off their regular price.

Best deals always are on release week.

ARRRGGHHHHH!!! I had it in my hands this afternoon at Costco but all I could do was look at the pretty packaging because I literally don't have enough money to buy it right now! I mean, I could've bought it but I would've plunged into debt and been completely bankrupt but I had amazing willpower and was able to put it down and walk away (albeit grumbling and pissed). Oh to have the life of a destitute college student...LOL And like that wasn't enough, I think it was the last copy they had too! *sigh* Oh well, maybe I'll get super lucky and win one of the Season 2 DVD contests. *crossing fingers*

Don't be like me and have to pass up buying Season 2 at Costco for only $31.90!!! It also has extra pretty packaging because Costco sells pretty much all of their DVDs in the extra-long packages so there's more of the pretty artwork to admire! :-D You know you're a TRUE KR fan when you buy Season 2 at Costco because it has an extra 24 square inches of cover art! LOL

I went to Circuit City where I found every TV series on DVD imaginable except for Knight Rider. So I went to the nearby Target where they only had one set and paid $41.00. Yeah, I got a little ripped off compared to other prices but I didn't feel like shopping around for it...
