May Pope John Paul II's soul rest in peace. He served us for 26 years and contributed a lot to humanity. He will be missed. Rest well Father...we will miss you.

May the Pope rest in peace, and may he have a good successor, too.:) sigh....
It's sad that he passed on, but I hope the new pope will be a good peace-loving and strong leader. :(

I'm not religious at all and disagree with much religious doctrine, so please I hope folks here will still show tolerance of my way of life and beliefs too.

I too am saddened by this man's passing, as I am of Terri Schiavo's. Pope John Paul II was also important to my late dad's family who are mostly devout Roman Catholics, but also half Polish. It was a big celebration to everyone when he got in as Pope, being that it was a rare and unual occurance as he was considered an "outsider" and especially since he was Polish. The family revered him very much. I have to call my aunt today and my step mother, which reminds me.

This man believed in what he was doing and really lived his life out living his dream, being devoted totally to what he believed in, no matter what the opposition. That in itself is an inspiration. It tells us that if you truely believe and are devoted to your beliefs, you can accomplish great things. While I do disagree very much with religious doctrine, I am thankful he was instrumental in freeing many from dictatorships and spoke out against the wars that I too knew were wrong.

It was a sad week for me to hear of Terri Schiavo's passing and then the Pope's as well.

I say this according to my own beliefs that may they both find their next life a more joyous and happy life and continue to work for the good of humanity if Nature puts them in such a position. (I realize some don't believe in reincarnation but at least let me have my well wishes here too, as you wish them to your ideas of Heaven as well. Where they actually go, it's all mutual we all wish them well :)).

We all have different beliefs, and what I was very happy to see was that even that other religious communities had good to say about this Pope.

I do hope too that the next Pope will inspire those who believe in him to work towards a less violent, more tolerant and free world. It's a goal I think many of us have.

I wish Terri and John Paul II the best in the next world...but shouldn't this topic be in the Lounge or something?

Officially it should be in The Lounge. However, most of the members of this forum do not visit the lounge on a daily basis or never visit at all since their interests are only Knight Rider based. This thread's purpose here is to convey the message of the Pope's passing to all the members. It's the least we could do in order to offer some respect to His Holiness.
