TITLES & OPTICAL EFFECTS- UNIVERSAL TITLE
Can someone tell me what a UNIVERSAL TITLE is? I see it in the closing credits of KR and all shows produced by Universal Studios.

Basically, Universal Studios is a branch of its parent company MCA/Universal. Thought originally, the film company was the first started, they have moved off into music and the amusement parks, much like its opposition, Disney (which has branched off the "Touchstone Pictures" for films PG-13 and above).
Amongst the other branches for MCA/Universal includes the amusement parks (which also serve as a production studio, seeing that Universal allows for small productions to be filmed at their park and user their facilities for such a production. I read it in a magazine a long time ago called Sci-Fi Universe), the movie and TV productions, music and video gaming.
Basically the "Produced by Universal Studios" is one of the signature logos to indicate who owns/has part of the production. You notice that they include a Glen Larson production logo at the end as well. Look at TV shows today, which also do the same (for example "Farscape" was a production from the Jim Henson Company and Channel 9 of Australia, though the show was shown on the Sci-Fi Channel).
Though I could be wrong with the following information,. This is just what I know.

I think what Keon is referring to is in the closing credits, it says
Title and Optical Effects
UNIVERSAL TITLE
What I think this refers to is that Universal had an internal division that handled doing the opening credits (the "title sequence") and other effects as opposed to sending it to some sort of external company which might often be used. That department was simply called "Universal Title". It's a guess, but I'd say it's a strong one.
