i meant that they do offer the general lee as a kit you can put together in the 1/18 scale i got a few of them clearanced out and detailed them like i said and put them back together i should not have used the word customized i should have said made more accurateHondaSiR wrote:What do you mean Dave Knight? The ERTL KITT and 1:18 General Lee are already assembled from the factory. Do you mean an AMT or MPC plastic model kits? I think Gonzaloa bought the diecast ones since this thread is about the diecast versions.Dave Knight wrote:i have built 3 or 4 of em for a friends but i custom detaied mine (engine wires, chrome foil trim for windows, detailed paint applications on the dash etc)
If you mean you have customized and detailed your 1:18 scale diecast models, then a more appropriate word to describe what you do is "customizing". It would be untrue if you say you built them because they are already built.

Ah ok, now I understand. I didn't know they made General Lee kits in 1/18 scale. Your friends are lucky if you made their kits for them specially if they don't possess the skills to build it themselves.Dave Knight wrote:i meant that they do offer the general lee as a kit you can put together in the 1/18 scale i got a few of them clearanced out and detailed them like i said and put them back together i should not have used the word customized i should have said made more accurate.

i just tried it,but the steering wheel wouldnt budgeTetsu wrote:Hey ther Hunter,
I think I know what the problem is when you meanWhen you unscrewed all the screws, there should've been 6 all together. What's "stuck" is the steering wheel to the dash. You must gently pull down on the steering wheel to seperate it away from the dash. Then the Chasis and body should come apart no problem. But it looks like you solved your door problemi just unscrewed every single screw on the car but the engine or something was just not letting me take the bottom of the car as it was stuck![]()
Okay bro, take care,

Hi Hunter,
Yeah, the steering wheel is very tightly in place. my first time dissassembling KITT, I was afraid that it would break but you just have to apply some tough love there and press down on it. I've taken the car apart a million times without the plastic breaking, so they did make it sturdy.
But Don't do it if you think it's going to break. Go with your gutt. You know your model best,
Good luck bro,
Tetsu

Hey guys, I've managed to get my camera hooked up and download the picture I took of me and my KITT on the return trip home from the Moultrie Car Show. Follow the link:

I've also got a few pictures of some of the Mustangs and other vehicles I thought were interesting at the show on my camera. I still need to download those onto the computer and whatnot.

I found my K.I.T.T at the Pittsburgh Auto Show at a vendor's table. The guy was from a hobby shop. Perhaps try looking at one of those. They don't sell the model is regular toy stores for some reason.kitt1987 wrote:Should I be worried that I've yet to find the 1/18 KITT in stores yet? Have I missed out completely on it?

Why wait a second longer? It doesn't appear it will ever show up in your average local store. Buy it online, they're not expensive...with shipping included, the bill shouldn't be more than $35.00. They may not be available online for long, why risk it? It's really not that expensive when you can get your hands on it now. It's only 35 bucks, you can make that much in a day quite easily.kitt1987 wrote:Should I be worried that I've yet to find the 1/18 KITT in stores yet? Anyone here order from idcow.com? I've been to their site a few times, but I've never ordered from them myself (I usually stick to Canadian sites, eh). Lots of photos on each diecast car including KITT.
