LED Scanner Schematics

Post by MrPayner » Sat Jan 29, 2005 11:57 pm

Hi All

The rear end of my car has an LED brake light that's about 30cm's long.. I had an idea that I could use this light bar as a rearward facing scanner..

The idea was to have the braking system as the predominate function [ie whenever the pedal is pressed it would cut the other signal], but also have a PCB with the right chips to have a scanner movement when a switch is activated similar to KITT's scanner [ie all lights flash when started, then sweeping scan motion]

Does anyone know anything about electronics do draw something up that I can try?

Features...
- Brake over-ride function [when ever brake pedal is pressed it cuts motion]
- Easily reversible design [possibly using spades so that i can restore the original function of the light bar when i sell the car]
- Use of switch to start/stop motion.

Any help would be great, and I would definately get a kick out of it [especially my friends too] if it actually is do-able!

Regards
Adam
