THESE ARE AMAZING NEWS!
Concerning the 5.1 Mix: I just bought BATTLESTAR GALACTICA on DVD, which is from 1978 and was mixed in 5.1. And the mix is really good!
But I wouldn't mind getting KR in Mono or Stereo either
IMPORTANT QUESTION TO JOE:
Will there be a german audio track on the Region 1 or Region 2 set?
Or do we from Germany have to wait a little bit longer?

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about what languages will be included on the DVDs. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

5.1 is no good.
I definetely disagree with you mate - the 5.1 mix for "Battlestar Galactica" was absolutely terrible - it was like listening it from the top of a 5-mile deep hole in the ground. Even the VHS copy I have from Universal-Playback is better, not to mention the video quality of it. This idea of burning 4 episodes per disc isn't a great thing - the quality is too blurred, and hardly sharp & clear. As for the menus, the worst - so static and boring - not even any 12-chapter scene access menus, and what about moving, animated main menus, using footage from various episodes, etc.?K.A.R.R. Trust me, all shows from the Eighties period will be perfect if they are in either high-quality, and slightly re-mastered & cleaned up MONO 1.0 (like the Columbia House discs), or full STEREO 2.0.
I hope Universal realise that there are 2 shows called "Airwolf" and "The Equalizer" - they too deserve as much special edition DVD treatment as "Knight Rider" and definetely as much as "Battlestar Galactica".

Stringfellow Hawke, all depends what surround system and type of speakers you got. Different systems execute sound in different ways.
Usually, the bigger the speaker, the more envelopment.
Krfan1, don't forget they should be using duel layered discs. from my knowledge, these aren't for sale yet to buy as DVD+/-R's. so the quality will still be great...after all, they wouldn't be releasing it otherwise.

I understand that, but normally, both my bedroom television and our downstairs television, both non-5.1, plays 5.1 discs perfectly, but for some reason, the 5.1 soundtrack for Galactica was terrible.Skav wrote:Stringfellow Hawke, all depends what surround system and type of speakers you got. There are other options for us in the UK. You tried http://www.dvdboxoffice.com? I have been using them for a few year now. Do US games and R1 DVDs. Very good and theres free shipping on all items to anywhere in the world.
