I agree with you Michael Knight 7790! I think so too that the Scent of Roses is the saddest episode of the Knight Rider. My reasons for that are basically the same as yours.
Another touching episode for me is White Bird, particulary the ending where Michael is crying and the theme song is in the background. That part makes me feel miserable.

Yes, that episode definatley pulled on my heart strings as well. It also made use of great locations, like the beach at the end with Michael at the water and panning back to reveal KITT, it was well done.
Nice first post, Michael Knight 7790! Welcome!

yeah, defo SOR and JYD for me as the saddest ones....oh and 'white bird' too.
the ending of 'let it be me' had the potential to be saddening but you get the feeling that the end of that ep was rather rushed. as if to say 'bye bye..see you until the next time' sort of thing.
i'm not gonna bitch and say SOR shoulda been the last, we all know how we feel about that, its just too bad it wasn't.
it was just such a down to earth episode than the other ones. definetely something special.

Saddest KR moment though was in KR2000 (can we include the movie?). I bawled by eyes out when Devon died, every time I see it it never gets better. Waaaaaah, see, I'm breaking down just thinking about it.
I hate White Bird. I'm also an Ironside fan and Michael socks poor Don Galloway across the nose. Beastly person Michael Knight, leave Sgt Brown alone! I thought old Ed Bown was really cute in the repeats on BBC2 when I was younger. (Ah, the naive days of youth, it was what, 4,5 years ago? where's my pension booklet...)

Hey Micheal Knight 7790!
Welcome aboard the board!
Scent of roses was definitely my saddest episode with White bird a close second.

I agree with tkr9 about KR2000. I think I cried when Devon died when I first saw it. He was a very big part of KR and when his character was killed off, it was very upsetting. I think it affected me more then when Stevie was killed.

I am going to say that the saddest moment was Devon's death in KR2K.
The saddest episode was Scent of Roses, all around it was messing with your heart in some rather humbling ways.

Not necessarily heart-wrenching, but KITT getting smacked around in Knight of the Juggernaut was sad. I flinched with each hit.
Yeah, Junkyard Dog too.
I always thought Stevie episodes were kinda corny, but i don't wanna start flame war, so I'll leave now

Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

I think that Scent of Roses was the saddest episode. And Knight of the Juggernaught was sad too! I mean, KITT getting hit and almost destroyed! SAD! I havent seen the one where Devon dies yet...

Nivek, I am not picking on you, but I do have to comment that you be a little more careful again, before the typos start earning you unmerciless teasing.
It would be White
Bird
And 'saddest' not 'sadist'. Trust me, 'sadist' has a completely different meaning.
Now on with your regularly scheduled topic.

No problem, just didn't want you to become a victim of what we in the fic community are now deeming, porno typos, especially in such an intensely emotioned post.

Ah, how powerful an acting job was pulled off in SOR. David REALLY pulled off some drama, in that one.
Guess what. White Bird just came on as I typed this reply during my mini-KR marathon. Perfect timing, eh? (Not my planning, either.)

Wow nice call there KI with the saddest moment, I'd have to agree with you on that on. They way they did the flash backs as it happening put it over the edge for me.
I was thinking this would be a great topic on its own, but it would just be filled with when someone died or was destroyed, I don't think we need that level of depression, but feel free to start one if you like to.

I can't believe I've finally found it!!! I have, for as long as I can remember, always had a vague memory of a television show that really touched my heart as a young child. The memory only consists of a beach house, maybe an explosion, a woman dying. That's ALL I remembered. Then at some point in the last year I realized that it may have been a Knight Rider episode. I think this Heart of Roses episode is it! I haven't seen it yet, so I can't be sure, but from the way you guys are talking about it, this could be it. I've got to find the episode or something so I can find out. If this is the episode then the internet has really helped me fill in some great gaps in my memory. From the song that I used to hear in preschool (I found it 2.5 years ago online), to the name of the actor who played Winnie on Wonder Years, the internet always comes through eventually! I can't wait to track down this episode to find out if this is it!
By the way...the way I found this discussion was on google with the keywords "michael knight rider dies beach episode".
After this long post, I have to ask whether or not I need to see some other episodes with this "Stevie" character in order to get the full emotional effect so I won't be let down. Any advice?
Thanks so much guys. Interestingly enough, a "Sci-fi" or "nerdy" discussion group has had a fairly profound social impact. (at least on this individual)
Thank you sincerely!

I agree that Devon dying is THE saddest thing on KR. I'm not going to watch KR2000 because of it. I saw photos from Devon's death scene on a internet site one evening and I admit to tears.
The character of Devon Miles was my favourite human character (of course not counting Michael) on KR.

I liked Race For Life from the second season.
My heart went out to Becky.
Also JYD too. I felt like my best friend had been thrown into that acid pit.
I know how MK felt...Helpless.
Finally KR2K When Devon died. I looked up to Devon like second father, so it was hard for me to watch that scene (still is).
I guess it prepared me (somewhat) when I did lose my real father back in '98. Sniff...tissues please?
