The Banshee looks pretty good though.

Cool. Can someone blow up that cool looking 'horse-head' yin-yang logo? I have been looking for a large scale version of that logo.

Hello everybody! I would like to buy an AMT K.I.F.T. model but I need a little help. I saw on the photoes that the models were made with different wheels. I would like to buy a model with correct wheels of course. Just like the one what ThomasKnight has. Could you help me how I can find out about a MISB model that it's the correct version or not? Thanks for the answers.:)

it is easy to tell which one has the correct wheels, you want the original issue that came in the box with the gray background:

Image

the re issue with the incorrect wheels (they were from a 91-93 Corvette, not the 5 spoke custom mag wheels used on the 1/1 car) were in the kit with the blue background:

Image

even tho the picture on the box shows the correct rims, only the one that came in the older 'gray' box is 100% guaranteed to have the ones that are the same as the real full size car.

NOTE, the front and rear ends of the body are separate so you you will have to use putty to fill in the seams where they join before adding primer and paint. and you WILL have to paint the car as the body IS molded in red but its more translucent not solid red. If you have ANY KITT model kit (no pun) related questions feel free to ask or send me a PM.

no problem man, hope you get it and happy modeling to ya! Oh if you wanna feel daring, since the K 4000 is based off of a Dodge Stealth you could buy a AMT Dodge Stealth kit and use that kit's better detailed interior (the K 4000 dash drops right into the interior bucket as the K 4000 kit is based off a Dodge Stealth promo model used to promote the car in dealerships) and the kit's better detailed chassis with full engine and suspension and exhaust detail even tho you will never see the top of it unless you cut out the rounded triangular 'hood opening' (the kit chassis is one black slab of black plastic with details like the drive train and exhaust molded in place and metal axles to attach to the wheel backs).

The plastic glass is also the same on both kits except one was single piece while the other was in 2 pieces or at least it was on both of my kits.

yeah it is it is a fairly simplistic model it has less than i think 30 parts

body (4 parts, shell front and rear clips rear wing, front and rear windows)
lights (front scanner is transparent red, 2 front lights which are simply pieces of smoked glass, rear lights 2 pieces of clear red plastic)
interior (bucket, dash, steering wheel, shift lever, 2 front seats)
chassis (one black part that has all the molded in engine and exhaust details)
wheels (4 wheels, 4 tires, 2 metal axles)

Thanx for the heads up on the difference between the 2 Knight 4000 models!

I already have one, but kinda screwed it up. I want to buy another one and really detail it. Gonna put a Aoshima scanner on it. Now read about the Dodge Stealth AMT model you mentioned! Gonna get that also!

Question, I was looking through ebay, do I buy any AMT model or the Promo AMT models that come in a white box with AMT Ertl on it? Is there a difference between those two or they the same?

Thank you!!
Billy C.

the promo models were just preassembled lower part detail model kits from AMT with the body held to the chassis with metal screws and axles for the wheels (think a big scale hot wheels car but made of plastic) and the promos are based off of snap/screw together AMT kits (AMT did a glue version with full engine and drive train detail, and a snap/screw together version of the same car, the K4000 uses the promo/snap/screw Stealth's interior bucket, front seats, and chassis and metal axles but has K4000 unique rims and tires). FYI the scanner in the K4000 is more of a pointy shape (like a boomerang shape) so the aoshima scanner will not fit and or look right.
