well that sucks, i think free roam is a better idea man, after you beat the game that is, i cant stand mission based games, they suck, please make it free roam man, or at least free roam in each section so you can choose missions or just goofing off, like mafia is, different sections of maps but you can just free roam or do missions, or both, because just mission based like the knight rider games will be so boring to me, and probably a lot of others, but either way ill play it, i just cant stand mission based non free roam games, if its not gta i dont like it, because that's all ill play and like, free roam gta style games, and gta as well, but anyways it'll be a good game period, i just hope free roam is an option, at least for each map area, and i hope the maps are huge too, not small because small maps will be bad, needs to be the biggest most detailed as possible man, for everything, game play, graphics, characters, vehicles, maps and etc, the best you can possibly do with as many features as you can possibly add, that including free roaming, anyways keep us posted man, thanks and peace

Sandbox man. Sandbox is free roam. You have 5 free roaming maps instead of a huge map like say San Andreas. You can choose to do missions or not, its up to you. Once you get board of turbo boosting into everything in sight, you can choose to go on to the missions with no penalty. Well unless you ignore a timed mission. Then you just start the mission over again. Each level has a theme: country side, city, desert, secluded industrial zone (complete with acid pit), and some nice winter mountains (they fit into the final chapter of the story). You also have 5 other levels that are race specific to each of those themes, you can not get out of KITT at will. These levels are for people who like a need for speed: the run style of game play better so they can hook up their steering wheel and pedals. They even use a more sim based physics for car handling for KITT. So in total there will be 10 really good sized levels to enjoy. 5 Racing, 5 Free Roam.

oh ok, sorry about that man, i didn't know what you meant lol, well that's good to know, but i think you should be able to leave kitt when not on missions, and call or goto the flag semi when your not on missions to start certain missions if not all just like on the TV show, and some from the flag manor, also should be able to unlock cars to drive, such as Goliath, flag semi, karr and maybe even some traffic vehicles, and characters like different Michael outfits, different outfits for Devon, Garth, Bonnie April, rc3 and etc, and maybe even some upgrades per mission for better features for all vehicles and etc, pretty much as many features as possible with as much detail for everything as possible, so far from the pics it looks really good, but your making it even better so i cant wait to see the final version, and just wondering but do you think will see a release this year? i mean i know your busy and all and this is just a hobby but i do think we are entitled to a beta version this year, like a demo with only some stuff like 1 level and a few missions, something to hold us all off on because its been what, 5 years now that you have been working on this game, im just saying you should released a demo if a final version isn't due out of this year, but anyways none the less i cant wait to see more update videos and so on, anyways talk to you later, peace

So it'll have racing wheel support? Cool. Will there be support for other controller types as well? I do all my PC gaming with a wired 360 controller when able.

P.S. Sorry for that, knightprowl. It was like 4am and all I was seeing was GTA GTA GTA, more GTA! lol I apologize, you are absolutely right. They are your ideas, and good ones in my opinion. All I was getting at is that you always say "make it more like GTA." Maybe you could present it a little better?

well that's all i like is gta, i prefer free roam gta style games and this seems to be it, ken said its free roam sandbox and that's what i like, but anyways its cool man, your right i say to much gta stuff, but im trying to give ideas to make this better overall, and i myself use the wired Xbox 360 controller, hopefully those are compatible, anyways thanks and peace

I'm doing all testing with a wired Xbox 360 controller, so support out the door for that. But as long as windows recognizes your input device, it will work with my game. I'm using a G25 for testing the driving levels and it works great. :)

well that's good to know on the controllers, and ok demo in September, sounds good man, cant wait to play it, but do you know how much the demo will have exactly, cause id like for it to be at least 1/4 of the game if possible, the like the first map area and its missions or something, enough to hold us off for another 6 months or so for the final version, but anyways either way it'll be great, anyways thanks and peace

also from the video ive seen from the twitter account, its looking great man, but some suggestions to make it even better, not sure if its already planned but doing this stuff would be nice, anyways my ideas list is below, anyways hope you like them, let me know what you think is good and not and what is and isn't possible, these also apply to other maps, not just the countryside, as much features and details and realism as possible, anyways hope you like them, thanks and peace

animals like different types of birds, deer, foxes, snakes, insects like fly's, butterfly's, moths, bunny's, also spiders and other animals for the countryside, also be able to hit them and kill them, or at least hurt them if you hit them
adding a river or something stunt wise that kitt can or has to do for missions or even free roam, and having fish, turtles and other animals for the water
more roads with dirt and pavement, and not just gravels
effects for the different types of surfaces, like dirt clouds and trowing dirt on dirt roads, gravels on grave roads, skid marks on paved roads, dirt and grass on grass and fields, and so on to be more realistic
more forests and houses, maybe even farms like real countrysides have
turning lights on and off during the day
adding weather such as cloudy, raining, thunderstorms and etc
different cameras for kitt when Michael isn't in him, like far, close, inside, cinematic and others if wanted, same for when Michael is inside too, also have the camera rotational like gta san andreas while on foot and in vehicle
different cameras for on foot, close, far and medium
different times of day, morning, noon, afternoon, evening and nighttime
car menu with all the different kitt and karr versions with just the features for each version, pilot, season 1, season 2, season 3, season 4, custom kitt, slammin Sammys kitt and so on, also the different versions of the flag semi, pilot, season 1 white, season 1 black and gold, season 2, seasons 3 and 4, also the 2 versions of Goliath, Goliath and Goliath returns

that's it for now, more as i think of it

One thing Knightprowl brought up did make me think about gta.He mentioned the money.Michael usually needed beifcases full of money and that usually made Devon sit down before and after he was asked for themHe usually had to have Devond manupulate Knight Industries resources to fund F.L.A.G. .There's also kitt' auto currency dispenser installed in knight by a nose in season 3 which Michael had to account for each time he needed money from the foundation for missions.Might have been removed right after that episode since Michael used it for gambling.But since this story concerns all previous big hard bosses all in one spectacular episode for season 5 i doubt Michael will need to get foundation funds.

This game sound like its gonna be on point..what about access to drive to clothing stores to purchase clothes and have options on changing Michael clothes like changing to a suit and tie for attending a special party in the middle of a mission.

that's a nice idea James, but i think that just doing missions and unlocking outfits and other characters is a good idea, no need for clothing stores, but really having places to eat, fill up on gas, buy clothes, and etc would be nice, maybe even some casinos where you can gamble, i dont know, its up to ken, anyways thanks and peace

Random Encounters could be cool... Like for example, you're driving down the street and KITT tells you that someone is being robbed in an alleyway. Stuff like that. So then you can decide to go help, or leave it alone. Maybe there could be bonuses for helping, like a score multiplier or points for unlocking special stuff. And then possibly some penalties as well.

There were times where Michael was niceley dressed such as the end of custom made killer where the store owners gave him a nice suit as repayment.He also had other jackets with. White lines in hearts of stone which was later reused in knight of the chameleon.he is probably well known for the knight of the phoenix red turtleneck,cowboy boots,texas belt buckle which is what he's wearing now.id like to see him in the blue silk shirt and his fro styled the way it looked in season 4 since this is going to be season 5.

Hey guys,

Not ignoring anyone, a lot of ideas presented are things I would love to see making it into this game. Some of them are already currently functioning. You guys right now are just seeing bare levels. These levels will be alive with people, animals, other vehicles and such it all takes a bit of time and planning to make it all work together. And doing this currently alone, well it takes even longer lol.

About changing clothes and such? I didn't really think that far ahead for this. I just kind of made Michael and Garthe after my favorite look from the series. It would be possible to work changing clothes into the story. It wouldn't take much to make different skins for pants and shirt, and I can remove Mike's jacket from the model as well. I'm not sure if I'll have time with everything else or not to really make it customizable. I really wanted to put in this Avatar system where you could change to different characters from the show and be able to change their clothes and appearance. Maybe even give Michael some real time hair and you can control the size of his perm LOL. If I can get this done ahead of schedule then I will try and work this avatar creator idea into the game.

Would anyone be interested in a test level to toy around with? You wouldn't be able to do anything in it but drive around the city as KITT, or walk around as Michael Knight. Its very buggy, and rather boring lol but if there is enough interest I'll release it as a public Alpha Release for PC and Mac to gauge how the game runs on other systems out there.

knightprowl, no offense but after your attitude towards me earlier in this thread, I still don't really want to associate with you out side of these forums. Continue being civil with me and perhaps I will accept your request in the future.

In project news, KITT now takes damage after his MBS has been used up. After all how easy would the game be with a 100% indestructible hero?

The damage I feel is a good mix, KITT wont be loosing parts but he will dent and take dings, get his paint scratched, etc once his MBS has taken to much damage. You can repair the damage by driving into the semi. If KITT gets 100% damaged as a normal car then the mission fails and you will be required to restart.

I'll keep you guys posted on that test level, I would like to finish the new physics and new character controller for Michael before its released to the public. Thanks for being patient!

The damage thing is a good idea. With KITT's tech though, maybe he could have a regeneration ability that builds up his MBS over time? I am guessing KITT will give audibles about his MBS meter with phrases like "Michael, I don't think I can take much more of this." or "We need to take a more defensive stance on this.."

I could see special scenarios where someone like KARR or Garthe ends up hacking into KITT, disabling the MBS so it forces you to play more strategically.

I like that Avenger, its simple and I never really thought of it. Regenerating MBS. I had also planned for functions to fail at lower MBS status, so I can restore those as well as the MBS meter regenerates. Thanks man. I'll give you a credit in the game!

I know this may sound a little dramatic but I am honored! :)

When I visualized the MBS reaching a critical range, I suppose the player could find a safe location to park or shield if he is nowhere near the semi. Gives KITT a chance to recover, but the process should be reasonably slow so it doesn't completely take away from the benefits of reaching the semi for a faster recovery.

Lets say KITT is under heavy gun/missile fire. Using the scanner (if the MBS is a decent level that its not damaged) he can look for a place of cover or a "safe route of passage". If the scanner goes down, the player is on their own to seek out protection until KITT can recover.

Also, KITT should also reach a damage point where he can't regenerate and you are forced to find the Semi, which could be stationary or out on the road somewhere. Adds that pinch of difficulty to the gameplay.

I'll throw out other ideas from time to time. But I, like everyone else, know you don't need them to make the game great! I just like showing support and if you like the ideas, great :) Glad I could be of some help.

@Ken Maybe you can made a Mission where KITT has so much damage (maybe from Goliath or KARR?) that you must took a other normal Car to pursuit KARR or Garthe what makes it much harder to get them?

as a fan im loving these ideas guys, and ken seems to as well, but yes we dont want the game to be to easy do we? anyways ive gave my ideas already, cant wait to see what others put, and ken i wish you the best of luck, i hope this games turns out as good or better then you plan for it to, and keep us posted on that test level, anyways thanks and peace
