Hey Guys

I bought Today KITT from SKYNET 1:18 in very good condition from Japan, good Car but it says version Number 1. What is that suppose to mean, did somebody has pictures of that Aoshima Skynet Knight Rider KITT Scale 1:18 I found this today:

http://www.lcv.ne.jp/~aiaki/aoshima/18kitt.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Is this version 1, I hope so because I like the frontlights :good:

I believe what you are getting from Japan is the Japanese talking KITT version 1. Mine is the version 2 which came with an excellent diorama of the interior of the FLAG semi for its packaging and I think KITT saying different phrases. But we won't understand as it will speak in Japanese.. I have sold off my first release ERTL KITT with the ugly orange fog lights when I got the talking version. The Skynet/Aoshima KITT are the same 1/18 models as the previous ERTL/AOSHIMA (or Skynet) release, the only difference with the talking version is the speaker drum in the trunk. Some shots of mine >>>

Hmmm... Not really. I've had both the ERTL and the Aoshima.. And not to forget that my 1/18 KARR is from Aoshima. There is no noticeable differences in the tan colored interior of the car. Both look identical.

Speaking of color, the gas tank under the car (the battery cover for the model) on the Aoshima version is black as it should be. But the cover used on the Ertl model is silver in color which is inaccurate to the show as the underside of KITT is supposed to be all black except for the exhaust which is silver.

There are many sellers selling the 1/18 KITT at eBay. Some of the photos they show comes with the orange fog lights, while some other sellers show photos of the model with all fog lights white. I think the best is to find a power seller and inquire with the seller if the model comes with all fog lights white. The seller should be able to check it easily without having to open the packaging as there are windows on the packaging that shows the front and rear of the model..

Some sellers on eBay I found that you can ask and check with them as their item page shows photos of the model with all the fog lights white >>>

http://cgi.ebay.com/Ertl-Knight-Rider-K ... 7C294%3A50

http://cgi.ebay.com/ERTL-KNIGHT-RIDER-K ... 7C294%3A50

http://cgi.ebay.com/KNIGHT-RIDER-KITT-P ... 7C294%3A50

Hope this helps... I'm pretty sure one of them will have all the fog lights white..

Buying the new KITT Car

Post by Josch Schulz » Sun Feb 22, 2009 4:09 am

Hey Guys

I did it today, I sell one of my Knight Rider Joyride KITTs and buy one from the new one from Seller "VS - Die Cast" on ebay. I give the guy the money in the next days. My work is the following. I buy the Skynet Aoshima and make from 2 cars 1 becuase I like the Wheels and other parts on the Aoshima KITT. When everything goes fine in the end I have a very hot KITT car with clear frontlights. I make some pictures when I am done with my work :good:

Hey 8)

And today I payed my car. Lets see what I become in the end. I dont belive that I am getting the new and clear frontlights untill I see them, because Joyride and Ertl never write on the pages that new models are there outside. They guy told me that all 6 frontlights are clear and I hope they are. After my work is done I post some pictures. Would be very cool to have the car here but I have to wait very long to get it because I am locaded in germany. But after I get It and start the work I make some pictures. If this car realy has 6 clear foglight a dream would be come true + the fact I get the parts from Aoshima KITT for a very good looking exterior. :kitt:

The only thing that bothers some people about the Aoshima version is that the tires have the white goodyear words. But I think it actually makes the model looks cool somewhat even though its inaccurate to the series..

Yeah you're right... And another thing, the Aoshima will come with the screen accurate KNIGHT license plate. The ERTL version had the wrong fonts for the letters in particular the letter "I" in the word KNIGHT.

The one I saw in a local model shop had clear lenses, that wanted far too much money for it though. Play.com had some brand new stock come in with free delivery, Ill have to grab one of them. Why the heck is Karr so hard to find?

Its because KARR was a limited release. A repaint of KITT from ERTL. But ERTL missed out the KARR license plate. Mine is the Aoshima 1/18 KARR that actually came with a KARR license plate. >>>

i think that the biggest major mistake on this model is the front nose!is completely wrong and innacurate with the series or any replica!the fog lights aren't like molden so front...i think they should be in the nose behind grils or without!!aoshima should be making its own 1/18 model based on the 1/43 model and not on ertl!!!also...the front nose is more like the 4th season and the dash is 1/2 season!so the only thing that we know here is that..this model is based on a fan replica and not on a screen used car.

Greenlight do the best 1:18 Trans Am, just need to convert that to KITT would be the best option as the tailgate is all wrong too.

Can anyone who has any of the 1:18 cars take a picture of it with some thing in comparison, like a shoe box or something? I'm curious as to how big these cars look, since I've never seen them in person or in any stores, for that matter.

Thanks!

i know that everything can be done...if yu think that when i was 16 years old..i made a 1/25 kitt out of a tamiya nissan 200sx model....but what i say is that is more possible to evolute the 1/18joyride kitt than convert the greenlight gta trans am!i am working on a project to convert the front nose of the 1/18 to look like more season 2.i don'd know if i will make it...i'll post pictures when it will be almost ready!
