Remember that crazy synthesized Climactic music that would flow into a scene as Michael slowly approached his enemy or some form of danger...
Remember how it used to increase and become so prominent that it made your heart pump.........well, I think we're missing some of that in the new series. The Music in TOS was such an important part of what made that show so great.
If anyone has watched the MAX PAYNE movie (i know it sucked) however the music in it reminds me exactly how the original Knight rider show would indicate a climactic scene. What do you guys think?
The New Series is great but it's missing this...

you may have a point here. some one on the board mentioned this actully, but he was more specific about using the theme in the show it self.
but I agree, Music do have a big effect on the way we see the show and the progress of events. anyway, as any one would say at this point of time, I hope they will apply this in the second season.

This is actually an issue that affects all TV entertainment in general and it's not limited to Knight Rider. As a soundtrack buff I too miss old-school theme-based scores of the past, especially Knight Rider and Mission: Impossible. These days only handful of series go down that route, Sean Callery's music for 24 being the top of the line.
But for what it is, I think Christopher Tyng's score is pretty solid. It has a pretty good balance between pop-rock influences and actual dramatic underscore, not to mention the theme song is pretty much perfect. No, it's not as thrilling or awesome as the original, but bare in mind that the main function of a theme song is to create an image show / movie in question. And it's exactly that; There's familiar rhythm driving it all, yet otherwise it's all new and modernized - just like the show.

I do agree that the show should at least implement the starting theme song within the show in some form or another
