The ORB VOX display is run by a computer or CarPC.

Requirements
PC: Reasonably modern PC (Pentium 4 / Athlon64 or above, multi-core processor recommended) running Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Server 2008 in either 32 bit or 64 bit version. (Sorry, vista is not supported.)

On top of that the VOX display orb is also a mini computer. It's a computer hooked up to a computer.

This is as cheap as I can get it.

It includes the orb which is made of optical grade poly(methyl methacrylate).
The display board electronics (see list above)
All necessary software so that KI3T can talk back.
Front metal faceplate with black cloth vent openings.
Installation instructions for Mustangs.


All that you need is a CarPC to run the software on and you ready to go!

The one I am testing in the video is still a prototype, and it just a hair bit smaller than the real orb but I am getting some made just for this application that will be exact same size as the show car.

I just got enough preorders to buy the special displays in bulk.

Whew! That's a lot... but at what it could have been sold for, it's not too bad of a price... just a little out of my range right now.

I use Mac at home, any chance on that being a possibility? I like the fact of it being a mini computer... but it would be fun if I could at least hook it up to my home computer as well.

If there is ever a chance for to be Mac compatible, then I might be more inclined to buy one.

But it is very cool, none the less.

Sorry, its not nor will it be mac compatible. Most people with carpc's don't have a mac in there car. And KI3t's software only runs on XP anyway. (As well as hardware)

I would have bought one had it supported Vista. It just so happens that I bought a new laptop and it has Vista on it. I would downgrade to XP but I'd need the raid drivers for my HDD as it's not IDE and I would need to slipstream it into the install disc. Too much hassle now as I have set everything up on Vista.

If a Vista compatible one is made, please let me know.

Have you ever tested to run it on Vista in XP compatibility mode? If it does not need special drivers and it's just the software it might work. Just a suggestion.
