KI3T voice modulator
OK did anyone notice the glass globe or the voice modulator, if you watched the Knight Fever episode you see that the little eye and the line is now turning more into the three bar voice modulator from KI2T, check it out, if no one finds it I can take a pic off the TV and show you it...Its quick but its there and when you pause the show at the right time it is pretty visual...

Re: KI3T voice modulator
I've noticed that in the last couple eposides, it has the "Eye" and in the centre is the 3 Bar modulator like KI2T

Yeah, but if you go back and watch the earlier episodes, it's there from the very first episode.
The integrated 3 bars are the main reason why I like the voice-globe much more than the boring looking line from the pilot.

I'm liking the globe, fits the "Natual progression" of KITT

They should be careful not to make it TOO much like the original so they can differentiate between ki3t and KITT

Re: KI3T voice modulator
I noticed the "eye" quite a while ago. Seems a bit weird for me. KITT to me was he could she anything anywhere in him or around him as oppose to a cyclops type eye where he is focusing at one person at a time.

To note I do like the globe just sharing my weird thoughts on the eye.
Re: KI3T voice modulator
while I have seen it since the first episode I think the 3 bar portion of the globe has become more bold.

Re: KI3T voice modulator
the globe i think is a huge improvement over the pilot line display. way to similar to KIFT. i kinda like the moving eye in the globe.

Re: KI3T voice modulator
I thought the voice modulator in the backdoor pilot was much nicer and closer to classic K.I.T.T.'s. Yes, it resembled an E.K.G. machine, but I just don't get the globe and that weird "eyeball" that really just annoys me. I think it was the contrast of red over a black background that did it for me. The only downside of the backdoor pilot's modulator was that it was part of a screen with other graphics and not a physical separate dashboard feature.

Re: KI3T voice modulator
When I was making my KI3T voice orb, the one thing that bugged me the most is how inconsistent they are with the orb 'animation' graphic.
Sometimes its so dark it's black, other times royal Pepsi blue.
And still at other times red as hell. It just depends.
I think they are still trying to tweak it.

I prefer a darker blue with bold tri line of red with the line across the middle - if you get what I meantaoworm2323 wrote:When I was making my KI3T voice orb, the one thing that bugged me the most is how inconsistent they are with the orb 'animation' graphic.

Re: KI3T voice modulator
Totally agree! I like that royal dark blue with the emphasis on the red bars and line.
In a couple of shots the red is so strong it kinda makes a red outline on the orbs edges.
Other times its so dark they can't see it.
God why do they have to green screen everything.
If I can do this why can't they? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP7MC3ga0Q0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: KI3T voice modulator
I have to agree, you did a very nice job on that, they should be able to do something similar, they certainly a higher budget than you to do so... Or at least I hope they do, heh. Only thing is that it might be harder to sync it right since Kilmer's dialog is dubbed in after the episode is filmed. They also haven't done the old way of doing it where I can't recall ever seeing KITT's VM working outside the close up shot they used in the original series.
Yeah, it's probably something a lot easier for them to do with CGI.

Maybe it's a "mood globe" picking up on Mike's "vibes"taoworm2323 wrote:When I was making my KI3T voice orb, the one thing that bugged me the most is how inconsistent they are with the orb 'animation' graphic.

I can't stand the current voice globe. I liked the pilot movie voice thing and I agree it should be seperate from the other displays.

Re: KI3T voice modulator
I have noticed a change in the last few episodes in the placement of the voice thing. In the early episodes it appeared to be IN the globe, but recently it looks more like its ON the globe. Just thought that was interesting.
Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

Yeah they do that "on the globe" thing for side shots, and frankly it looks cheap as hell.
It's them just superimposing the image over the globe outline. Or as photoshop experts call 'laziness'.

Re: KI3T voice modulator
I saw this in an episode and thought it was cool. I can't remember the title. Season 3 I think. The episode where Michael and Ki2t help a farm or troubled kids. The one with the 2 monster trucks in it. There's a scene where Ki2t is talking to the old man and something to do with a tree. The camera view is through drivers window looking at the tree and you see the vox working as Ki2t is talking. Unfortunately I do not own Season 3, so I can't get a screen grab. Also, if memory serves me right I think we saw it work again 1-3 epsodes either way of that ep. If someone could snag a grab, that would be cool.PHOENIXZERO wrote: They also haven't done the old way of doing it where I can't recall ever seeing KITT's VM working outside the close up shot they used in the original series.

I noticed the lines. I liked it, still shows the history of old:)
Re: KI3T voice modulator
I at first did not like the orb, but it's grown on me. I don't think that the voice effect looks cheap, or the superimposition of the "eye" on the outside of the sphere. If you look closely, there's actually a lot going on here - there's the original VU inside the orb, which has been there for a long time (it can be hard to spot, for the next reason), and then there's the KEG-style display on the outside of the orb, which is "superimposed". Among all of that is the pinpoint eye thing. Behind that is the blue background...
The colors most likely change sometimes because it's a sphere. Because it reflects and refracts light, you can't expect it to look the same from every angle. That's what would really look cheap...
They've done a great job on the orb. I at first didn't like it, as it took some getting used to, but it's very modern and the display really works for me. I just hope that they don't one day make it a serious weakness or something - if that orb breaks, KI3T shouldn't have any issues functioning or talking or anything. It should just be a secondary scanner. Here's hoping the writers never decide to introduce KI3T's orb as his Achilles' heel....

Re: KI3T voice modulator
While I do kinda have a differen idea on the VM, the one they use is kinda cool. The "eye" has proven to be
more than just an eye. If ya remember the end of the 1st ep, while KITT listens in on Charles & Alex's discussion,
he also shoots a laser onto Mike's jacket, reading the info in it, more than likely downloading it into his system.
That is really cool.

Guess it kinda matches continuity-wise with the 'eye-orb-camera-scanner thing' from Knight Rider 2000
