Bad Points:
- KITT was dismantled
- No reference to Bonnie
- Mind Reading Through the Stick Shift (WTF? Too Far Fetched even for 10 years)
- Knight 4000
- Maddock
Good Points:
- Used Same actors
- James Doohan guess starring
- Devon's Death (the only reason i say this is because Mulhare dies in 98 i think, and it is better to kill a character off in the show than having to explain it later)
- Maddock getting decked
- KITT's Personality superior to KIFT....proves KITT is #1!
Knight Rider 2000 is not a bad movie, but it would have been better if the 82 T/A was actually in it at some point
I have a question.... did KIFT have the MBS?

This is from another thread but, I thought this would be a good place to talk about it:
And this is something else that bugged me. I didn't buy the whole Maddock selling KITT away right under Devon's nose thing. There is no way in hell that could happen.
Now this is something that has always bugged me about the movie. Even in the future how in the hell could Maddock consider KITT be to obsolete? The only thing I can think of was that he was thinking more about money then anything else and saw KITT as a way to get lots of money and just used that obsolete line to justify it to Devon.I think Maddock was just a jack arse that was looking to get money anyway he could, and saw KITT as being obsolete.

Per haps in his mind, with the supposedly better Knight 4000 coming out, he didn't see Kitt valuable enough to keep around, he was, by the time line, 14 years old.EdwardKnoxII wrote:This is from another thread but, I thought this would be a good place to talk about it:

About the mit about him doing it without Devon seeing, I wondered about that as well, Devon seemed to be up on what was going on....Devon seemed to of missed it or something, cause even he thought Kitt was still in one piece, and just shut down, or whatever.

I loved and hated the same part of the movie..... the credits rolling!
Hated it becasue it was then that I realised I'd been stiffed.
Loved it because the torture was finaly over

There is one question that is wide open here...'Why was KITT shut down in the first place?' It does make for some great fan fiction territory to explore. While the easiest answer would be that when Michael retired, he couldn't take KITT (Because, KITT was way to expensive to maintain and it would be like giving a civilian a fully functioning urban battle tank.) and soon after, the Foundation gave up trying to find a replacement (Remember 'Knight in Disgrace' and that line from Kitt about the odds of finding a more suitable driver for evidence of this.) because Kitt just wouldn't get along, I'd like to think that there was more of a dark sided reason for KITT being mothballed.Katt wrote:EdwardKnoxII wrote:Even in the future how in the hell could Maddock consider KITT be to obsolete? Actually Kitt mentioned finding odds of another suitable driver in Trust Doesn't rust, or one of the Karr episodes anyway.jup wrote:Katt wrote:There is one question that is wide open here...'Why was KITT shut down in the first place?' I found it odd, that Kitt was shut down, I had always thought that after 10 years or so of partnership, he would of gone with Michael when Michael retired, and Michael would bring him in periodically to get repaired, or updated, etc. I mean it's not like he and Michael would be running out and fighting crime, Michael had retired from that.
Personally, my least favorite scene in KR2k, was the entire time Kitt was in Michael's 57 chevy.

The only problem with KITT going with Michael into retirement, is that it is like sending a Stealth Bomber with its pilot when the pilot retired. KITT is a multi-million dollar, highly classified (really) piece of machinery, who was not meant to be out of the hands of FLAG/The Knight Foundation period, for fear that he could accidentally fall into the wrong hands.
Reprogramming him would have been a bit of a violation of his AI rights, so the best they could do at that point, it seemed, was to deactivate him, because they didn't see the need to try to integrate him with another partner.
And yes Maddock is still an arse.

While the odds were a billion to one, could the Foundation really take the chance that Michael, having the power of Kitt at his command, wouldn't go on a bank heist or some sort of illegal activity. Or, what if some bad person came after Michael and/or KITT? It's not like it hadn't happened, before. Why would 'retirement' make them any more safe from such a possibility?Katt wrote:I had always thought that after 10 years or so of partnership, he would of gone with Michael when Michael retired, and Michael would bring him in periodically to get repaired, or updated, etc.
And, alas, I find it doubtful that the Foundation would continue to make parts for a single vehicle that doesn't even do work for them, anymore. I bet in that situation, those would be some $10,000+ repair shop bills. Now, how many fish could Michael really catch to pay for that?
