Hello! I Come Bearing A KR Game...
Howdy, everyone. I just recently got hooked on Knight Rider again from the Sci-Fi reruns, and I couldn't be happier. I was in fourth grade when these originally aired. Oh, I was a fan all right. I had the K.I.T.T. toy with the talked when you pulled the license plate, the lunchbox that I used until it disintegrated, and a nice black jacket that I wore every day thinking I was like Michael (but really just sweating my butt off).
I'm glad to have found this message board with fellow fans to chat with. I know it's gonna be fun, and everyone (from what I've read so far) seems really great. I hope to jump right in with this...
I used Game Maker, a program I've got, to create a fun little Knight Rider racing game. Nothing fancy at all, in fact I made it in one day, but it's fun for KR fans. Please give it a try and see what you think. I'm already spiffing it up with new stuff, so there might just be a version 2. But try it, see what you think, and let me know.
It's about 700kb in a Zip file, and it's self-executing. Very simple. If you want, drop me a line at azerothnews@yahoo.com.

Scorp, excellent job. That game is pretty fun for having such a small filesize.
Now for my smart-alec thoughts (I kid because I love):
-This really was like an episode of the tv show. In every episode, Michael drives KITT around, constantly running out of fuel before he can go on a mission, so he has to pick up gas containers which are haphazardly strewn about the road. KARR appears every half minute of course, and always mimics KITT exactly. And of course, KITT and KARR immediately destroy any car they hit and just keep on driving past...
Question: Turbo boost is cool, but I can't figure out what the scanner does. Help?

Wait a minute...
Are you telling me that Michael and KITT don't spend the vast majority of each and every episode careening down an unending road, often obliterating oncoming traffic in their desperate pursuit of red "Fuel" cans?
My memory must be shot...
As for pressing the SPACE bar and having the scanner work, it doesn't actually *DO* anything, it's just there so you can have that cool sound effect play any time you want...
I'm still toying with having Goliath show up and kick your butt a little in the game, but that may never happen.

Me and instant messaging...let's just say we're not good friends. But I'd be happy to help you out (not that I'm all that great at GameMaker myself). Email me at azerothnews@yahoo.com and let me know what's up.Knight Racer wrote:Cool game man.My friend told me about the program gamemaker a week ago.I'm working on a knight rider game myself.I saw that you copied most of it off the race car game available as an example.I have a simaler game working but I changed the road, used a paint kitt sprite, and mine is 2 players.Kitt vs karr and Kitt vs the Flag semi.I'm having trouble with mine. Can you please help me out?you can instant message me with the screen name cybrtronmatrix.

No. That would be an 80's arcade called Road Blasters. Or, an NES game called Mach Rider.Scorp wrote:Are you telling me that Michael and KITT don't spend the vast majority of each and every episode careening down an unending road, often obliterating oncoming traffic in their desperate pursuit of red "Fuel" cans?
