A no-brainer. Of course K.I.T.T. should. Perhaps the only changes I would make is the frequency of use and the circumstances surrounding the use of it. I would show some of the technology behind it this time around, like perhaps some type of booster device under the wheels shown via some cool CGI zoom-in not unlike the bullets hitting the Knight 3000 in the telepic.

YES! This is what made KITT very unique, able to take out obstacles with a leap over. However, there needs to be an improvement such as NO RAMPS! That was cheesy and now we have CGI that's outta this world so use that.
BTW VK, I hated when they used the sound effects on the car that sounded so fake hopefully they come up with something better than those sounds and more realism!

sound effects are a must. i think the sound effects during turbo boost made it sound like the car was taking off, i think you defanitely need to have a sound effect when the car turbo boosts, the sound makes it more exciting during the jumps.

While I agree that sound effects are a must, it shouldn't be the same sound effect every time. Different situations call for different sounds. The sound effects were less believable in the original series, especially when other Universal shows reused the same sounds at times. The first scene of the first episode of Quantum Leap comes to mind, where Al's Ferrari has the exact same sound as K.I.T.T.'s turbine engine, as well as the Turbo Boost sound effect when he floors the gas pedal.

Sorry let me clear my statement up. The sound effects I meant was when KITT would be racing to somewhere like saving Michael not as much the Turbo Boost, however that Turbo Boost sound should have a nice clean sound.

Ok all you Knight Rider fans out there. I've been told that
we really need to get some big numbers that people want to see KITT turbo boost in the motion picture because some people in TWC think it's passe and unecessary.
If you really want to see it,
we need your votes more then ever and I will be printing out this entire thread to personally give to Glen as evidence that we fans believe that Turbo Boost is a staple of Knight Rider mythology that should not be tossed out or overlooked.

victor maybe you should put this thread in the general discussion area, because i dont think the majority of the people on this site visit the feature film section. maybe they dont know of any recent activity in this area. just a suggestion. anyway whats with the weinstein company, how could they not want turbo boost, i thought they were gonna let glen make the movie the way he wanted to make it.

Of course he should. (This is like asking, "Should a bear sh*t in the woods?")
Or it wouldn't be the same. And that's what was so ABSOLUTLEY DULL and BORING about KN2000 and KN2008.....No turbo boosting! WTF??? That's what KITT was most known for.

I am sure everyone would want to see it. Pretty much a given.
I see not having it as a cheap, easy, single solution to a number of difficult decisions that the stunt puts limitations on. Mainly the choice of the car itself, or existing platform to build a unique car on, that just the mere build design and construction limits the selection.
Without the stunt, no need to choose whether to do it with expensive CGI, or for real. Of course doing the stunt for real can get very expensive today, especially if done as in the original series. Really made a lot of sense to trash a stunt car, rather than make the needed modifications that paled in expense to replacing a car. Don’t bother to properly balance the car, sure the car will nosedive, regardless of takeoff ramp length and angle. It looked like not enough thought was put into the stunt to make it look realistic. The editing, or I should say lack of, showed it numerous times.
The stunt in the original series could have easily been done to look more realistic, without constantly trashing a stunt car.

Absolutely ridiculous notion...KITT not turbo boosting in a motion picture would be absolutely blasphemous. It's what myself and I'm sure most fans waited for each and every episode, it was EPIC!

Yes, of course KITT should turbo boost. Not having him TB would be like not having him talk or auto-cruise! And it was one thing that I sorely missed from the KR08 pilot.
I do think it was overused in the pilot - it only needed to be done a coupla times. But like others have said, it should be well done and not used unnecessarily. There should be other cool gadgets/features to add the 'wow' factor to the car.

I could vote again if you want, but everyone else's feelings are my own. KITT should turbo boost! There are a lot of gadgets that KITT had in the original series that are available in cars today, but turbo boost is still a trademark of the series that no one will ever be able to experience without Knight Rider!

KNIGHT RIDER RELOADED is a series of movies on Youtube to represent a different creative avenue to the Knight Rider we knew in 2008-09.

Yes indeed, turbo boost is a must in the new movie. It wasn't so important for me to have it in every episode of the old series. But if we're going to bring KR back and to the big screen, then there should be at least one turbo boost if not more.

Does anyone really think anyone is going to say NO?
You may as well be asking: Should KITT Talk ?
(btw: another YES vote has been registered)

Taking away KITT's Turbo Boost is like taking away Superman's Heat Vison.
But then agian, we didn't see the turbo boost in the 2008 Knight Rider TV movie......(ohhh I'm the only one that knew this!!)

Becuase one man CAN make a difference
