Just wondering if this could be an intresteing topic.
In the Origanal Knight Rider where Kitt was destroyed, IE Golaith, Juny yard dog etc.
Might things be diffrent with the Nano tech?
For exapmple what would happen if Goliath with MBS hit the new Kitt with Nano tech?
Would the acid pit still destroy Kitt with Nano tech?
MBS And nano tech.. What if???

Re: MBS And nano tech.. What if???
Since the nanotech apparently is only a exterior skin, I'd assume that the impact would still seriously mess things up internally, probably to the point where the damage (which would probably be greater than what happened with KITT) and due to the internal damage, probably to where it couldn't be fixed, unless a "back up" is created so it can still work while the main systems are offline. The acid pit probably would have been worse since the nanotech still would have been eaten/dissolved by the acid and there might not even be a shell left.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great!

Re: MBS And nano tech.. What if???
I'm inclined to disagree. From what little we've seen of the nanoskin's operation, I'd say that the collision with Goliath would not have disabled the Knight 3000. When the Blackriver SUV struck KITT sidelong, KITT didn't so much as move. Had KITT been thrown by the force of the impact but not seriously damaged, I'd say you were right about internal damage, but KITT didn't budge, and to me that says that the Nanoskin somehow absorbed or redirected the kinetic force of the impact. If the nanotech layer is capable of redirecting kinetic energy like that, then there would be no force reaching the interior of the car to cause damage to KITT's internals. So KITT would survive an impact with Goliath unscathed so long as the force of the imact was less than the nanoskin's ability to redirect kinetic energy (At the moment, we have absolutely no basis for determining what the limits of this ability are, so it would be a shot in the dark. At a rough guess, Goliath's mass was probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-30 times that of the SUV, and the force would be correspondingly larger given a collision under the same conditions. That said, though, KITT didn't get rammed broadside by Goliath, he was just run over, which means that KITT only had to bear the weight of the truck, not absorb the force of a head-on collision. At a rough ballpark, getting run over by Goliath would require surviving only about 5 times as much force as getting hit broadside by an SUV going 100 MPH)
Junk Yard Dog is a more interesting case. I think the self-repair facility of the nanoskin would keep it intact in spite of the acid -- if KITT can continuously regenerate fast enough to survive being hit by an SUV, he'd be able to regenerate from the effects of the acid -- remember, the amount of damage we saw to the Knight 2000 was caused by his being left to marinade over night; though potent, the acid waste did not act all that fast.
What makes this interesting, though, is that the Knight 3000 would only be able to regenerate for as long as his power held out. Once the car was completely submerged, KITT's solar cells would be useless, and his gasoline engine would stall with the air intake blocked. Again, we don't have much information to go on yet, but I would imagine sustaining that level of regeneration for an extended period would be a tremendous drain on KITT's reserves. Once KITT's power ran out, the nanoskin would become useless and be eroded just as you say, but the Knight 3000 seems, aside from the nanoskin, to be made of much more conventional materials than his predecessor, and might take far more serious damage once the nanoskin failed. (Might make for a good episode, with Sarah and the support crew in a desperate rush to rescue a trapped KITT and Mike before KITT's energy ran out. There's a number of Stargate episodes which managed to make very compelling character-driven episodes out of that basic setup)
The only possible saving grace for the Knight 3000 here is that, if my memory serves, most current ideas for nanomachines have them composed out of a kind of plastic. We know that the acid bath KITT went through doesn't affect all plastics, since KITT's CPU survived intact. So it could be that even fully powered down, the nanoskin just isn't soluble in that kind of acid, and would still provide protection (No single acid can eat through *everything*, otherwise, we wouldn't be able to make bottles to keep them in).

Re: MBS And nano tech.. What if???
I Think that the K3000 would be able to analyze the acid and seeing that the NS can form into almost any thing it would form into a non reacitve substance to the acid then it would only take min power to keep it on as apose to constantant regen now i thingking what if they but the formula for MBS into the NS matrices im thinking it could then recreate MBS when ever needed and also i think that K3000 could use the acid to form a big battery to keep him self powerd also k3000 most likely has a suped up microwave jammer and faster reaction time to k2000 so would jam the any thing that tryed to pick it up
nother thorught if NS can form into any colour could it be used to make k3000 invisable some what like JB vantage in die another day
