photoshops of the 2008 mustang?

Post by seeker78 » Mon Jan 07, 2008 7:26 pm

Well, does anybody have some skill with photoshop (or its free software equivalent, the GIMP, http://www.gimp.org) to make a better looking 2008 mustang that doesn't have such a [expletive deleted ;)] boxy front??? I found an example of what I'm talking about, this is a 2001 mustang gt.

but it seems like you could put some kind of appendage on to the front of the 2008 Mustang GT, like they did with the 1982 trans am, to give it a more sloped nose, and integrate the scanner into said appendage. Clearly the mustang in the above picture looks way more like a kitt type car would look than the 2008 shelby mustang, at least, unmodified.

Still, I have to admit that in the promo clips we have seen, it didn't look bad.

I know, this is not exactly what you meant. But I took the sketch of the Mustang and changed it a bit so it represent my own image of how Kitt should look.
And the result is really cool, so if you make it right, the Mustang IS the perfect car for Kitt. Well, in my opinion.

So, here is the original as it will be on the show:

And here is my vision:

And a darker version, more black:

What do you think?

Or what about a classic nose? It's still work in progress, but you get the idea.

The last one is sweet, can you make one showing the front of the car?

the last two are really great! naturally the classic nose makes it look a lot more like KITT, but to be realistic, it won't happen on TV, because it's too far out and not recognizable as a Mustang any more. so Ford would definately disagree.
the other one is nice though, a custom nose with better scanner integration, and you can tell it is a mustang.

It's obvious Ford would never allow it. I like the third mod more so then the fourth with the scheffe nose because I still like some of the sharp angles of the Mustang and you really don't want to just clone the 82 Trans Am, however I must insist those rims need to go and I think the Shelby Mustang 500KR whatever just looks bulky and boxy, I rather like the Guidio? concept Mustang better as a starting point. It's fun to imagine possibilities but the bottom line is Ford is with NBCU and anyone with NBCU will not be involved with the feature film.

At least you got rid of that god awful pug nose with the flaring red nostrils...I'm sorry I mean "scanner". I understand this new "KITT" is more aggressive but that sort of defeats the purpose to me of having a car that was built to preserve human life which means avoiding aggressive conflict when possible. I viewed KITT (Two Thousand) as very sleek and refined, each ability was there to aid in spontanious situations. KITT didn't go looking for trouble, trouble found him. KITT felt like a car AI you could relate to and have fun hanging out with and carry on a real intelligent conversation, not some aggressive stand offish type personality but eh that's just my opinion.

Could you please post the photos so they're full body across because I can't scroll far enough to see the entire body of the last pic.

PS - Seeker, I believe that Mustang you posted is a 93 with a GTO body, my friend Nick has a car just like that.

I agree, I don't like KITT to look so aggressive, too. That's why I experimented with the image. Picture No 3 is my favourite, because it still looks like a Mustang, has it's own character but still looks nice and cool.

The images are complete, they are just too big for the board. So if you want to watch the whole image, right click on it and open it in a new window.

And as for the rims, I don't think the rims are all bad, mordern cars do have rims, but I think the rubber parts of the tires are too small, so more regular wheels would look better.

Well on the rims we will have to agree to disagree. I think they look more like industrial ceiling fans. There are literally thousands of rim choices out there that would blow the stock ones out of the water. I've designed some really impressive custom rims for our version of KITT when we get a car picked out but unfortunately I cannot disclose those images at this time.

Unlike the Mustang and the Trans Am however, in the feature film KITT is designed to be one of a kind and unlike any other car on the road while still being a car.

hmm yeah but you can get that effect by using a stock car that has an appendage added to it, as GL did in the original KITT in KR, right?

Plus, why do you think Ford would never allow the car to be modified if you have a big movie budget and could compensate them? Admittedly I have zero understanding of the movie business.
